Two Bosses Enter: Cataclysm Season 1 finals {WoW}

Jun 27th 2011 8:00PM Well now that the piece of shit cardboard assassin has trump'd all the legitimate options to challenge Ozruk I really could care less who wins. Oh, and please don't do this series again as it's terrible.

Two Bosses Enter: Whitemane and Mograine vs. ... wait, what? {WoW}

Jun 21st 2011 1:09AM I really hate the cardboard assassin entry. It took one of my favorite columns and made it ridiculous. Oh well.

The Queue: A fel dilemma {WoW}

Apr 6th 2011 3:37PM Warriors need a caster spec, obviously.

I know you were joking but that reminded me about something that kinda rubbed me the wrong way in a bg the other day. I just started playing WoW again after a bit of a work related hiatus and although I don't play a warrior personally, back in Wrath I thought I kinda had a good idea of how the class functions... Correct me if I'm wrong though, warriors now have fears, bubbles, and self heals, on top of the plate, heavy dps, and stuns. Ummm... did I miss something? So they are basically harder hitting pallys that can also fear? I know a lot of people have been complaining about frost mages in pvp but damn I'd say there's even more of a balance issue with those beasts!

Ready Check: Ranged DPS can be harder than you thought {WoW}

Mar 18th 2011 5:42PM Yeah I like most of your articles. But this one, not so much. I just can't agree with you on the rdps v mdps debate. I too have characters of every type and see strengths and weaknesses in each of them. My main in Vanilla was a hunter, BC a disc priest, LK a pally tank, and so far in this one a feral bear/cat. Ranged dps has the easiest job in the game right now at least hands down. A good tank keeps the enemies off you even when you are nuking away like there's no tomorrow or the tank sucks. Melee dps gets smacked by every mob and boss almost as hard as the tanks from aoe damage/debuffs while also having to worry about tank placement and getting behind the mobs/bosses so they can actually hit. And healers have no mana any more and are responsible for not only keeping the tanks up but also melee dps who are getting their butts handed to them and the rdps that somehow does manage to get hit (usually by attacking an add that the tank isn't focused on. Rdps has to worry about standing in fire or aoe range and have pretty basic rotations too barring maybe arcane mage and balance druid imo. Pretty much it. In summary. rdps = cakewalk

Raid composition and the role gap {WoW}

Feb 17th 2011 4:33PM I agree completely! My favorite character since Vanilla has been my paladin. I typically have found over the years that tanking's what I do well with him but even when I'm not tanking I still prefer to be up close. Unfortunately for the past two expansions I have paid dearly for this style of play losing out time and time again to other classes. I have an 85 hunter, druid, and shaman and all of them are geared for ranged combat because simply put the design of this game punishes melee combat and rewards ranged combat. I don't really agree with this type of design and really think there are a multitude of ways to fix it. One thing I have considered is having a "cap" for melee fighters that once met doesn't require them to have to go behind the enemy. This would do a lot to alleviate the problem that is encountered with tanks moving and you having to stop dps to reposition. Another possible solution albeit one that whold probably get a lot of QQing wold be a "buff" that radiates from bosses with a 5 yard radius that would increase the damage of anyone within that range. This would largely be an increase only to melee dps but I can see it becoming a balance issue with some classes that can cast from any range (all but hunters?) and in late exp tiers when warriors and dk's start taking the lead with dps.

Tuesday Morning Post: Daniel mostly talks about patch 4.0.6 and maybe a little bit of RIFT {WoW}

Feb 8th 2011 8:36AM It's not fanboi QQing it's simply going to a website for something that is advertised and getting something else. It would be like going to for UO info and the mods posting update after update about how awesome Everquest is. Just doesn't really make sense. Or maybe going to a Chevy lovers homepage and finding it spackled over with posts about how badass the Ford Fiesta is. Once again just doesn't really make any sense and kind of defeats the point of going to that site. I don't care about your stupid looking human characters on Rifts Alex and I really don't care that much about how much fun you are having over the weekend playing a game besides WoW Daniel. If you are having a blast grats. Post about it on a Rifts site and pass the mantle of posting on this site to people that still want to talk about WoW.

Feb 8th 2011 8:19AM Please spare me any more about Rifts. It's an ok game but has nothing to do with me getting news on WoW. I don't think it's funny I think it's annoying and if it continues I suppose I will have to find my WoW news elsewhere.
