Mar 28th 2012 3:41PM Martin is definately overhyped, and his books dont really seem to be going anywhere, they are still a good read. And overhyped just means lits of people like it. Personaly, i think there are many authors better than Rowling, and that she is overhyped, but i still enjoyed Harry Potter
Mar 28th 2012 3:14PM Rothfuss is not nearly as popular as (I think) he should be. A friend gave me his first book (The Name of the Wind) around when it first came out, and I loved it! It makes for some good high fantasy with more than a bit of a satirical twist (as Pat said on his blog recently, look at the end of Ch. 42).
Mar 28th 2012 3:07PM Did someone ask for book recommendations? Yay! Some good fantasy that is becoming very popular:
George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice & Fire" series, and its tv show "Game of Thrones" based on the first book, thus far.
Anything by Neil Gaiman ("American Gods", "Anansi Boys")
And two authors I think should be getting more attention than they have:
Patrick Rothfuss, author of "The Name of the Wind" and it's seque; "The Wise Mans Fear"
Robin Hobb, who has written an 11 book meta-series all set in the same world, but the trilogy of trilogies (plus two others...) happen chronologically and the characters alternate from one to another. The first book is "Assassin's Apprentice" of "The Farseer Trilogy"
Lots of heavy fantasy reading there, so get started!
Mar 24th 2012 7:12PM Having played a mage for 4+ years, and being use to blinking every 15 secs, Glyph of Momentum seems like it'll be more confusing than helpful!

Dec 27th 2011 4:31PM Hey, nice to see someone else out there on a 13" MacBook!
When I was redoing my UI a few months ago, I was greatly inspired by a REader UI of the Week article (http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/06/21/reader-ui-of-the-week-go-hotkey-crazy-with-vardelm/) that showed a UI with mostly keybinds, not action bars.
While i deviated more than a bit from what is seen in the article, but removing most of my action bars (I used keybinds already, who needs to see the spells?) and switching major CD's to TellMeWhen and lesser ones to raven cleaned up a lot of space.
I use this UI on my PvP Fire mage main and a prot pally, so i find it quite versatile.
Good luck to all on UI breakthroughs!

Was anyone else afraid that Varian had really died?
Oct 13th 2011 3:03PM My Fire mage is crying little flamey tears of joy.
Oct 9th 2011 4:57PM Why is there so little Alliance v. Horde action in the endgame? By this is don't mean PvP, but actual plot movement outside of "OMG the world is ending, lets fix it."
It would be nice to see some BIG conflicts, i.e. capitol city invasions in the form of raids, not just a group of players moving in for a while and being a nuisance.
I guess I'm asking for a dynamic system, where players can influence the world instead of waiting for a patch to make things different.

Don't be emo; Play a Mage. (aka Timelords)
