Breakfast Topic: Pick a faction, any faction... {WoW}

Jul 13th 2009 8:04AM I went with Horde right from Beta. Playing previous Warcraft games, I have always enjoyed the horde side of the story. As well, the Taurens have always appealed to me. If anything, they are to the most "good" guys in the game.

Multiboxing.tv lets you watch multiboxing as it happens {WoW}

Jun 26th 2009 5:35PM I agree with the other people who state that the disclaimer should be removed. It is unnecessary. Also, your wording makes him sound like he is doing something wrong or that people should be wary. That is not the case, there are just some people who don't like him...

Patch 3.2 changes the tiered Emblem system {WoW}

Jun 18th 2009 6:58PM To all the people are complaining, just think about it. The average player wears 17 pieces of gear. Through the Conquest badges you be able to pick up, at most, 6 pieces of pve ilvl 226 gear for your character. 6 of 17.

Point being. It's not like someone is going to be able to gear themselves up completely as if they'd been clearing 25 Ulduar by doing this.

Besides, any HARDCORE player that really thinks this is a bad thing should probably be moving on the the T9 content anyhow. So when they're wearing 6 peices of 226 gear and 11 peices of 200 heroic gear, and you're decked out in your T9 swag, you probably won't feel so bad about it.

Stop getting so defensive, and just play the game.

Breakfast Topic: If you could be a real GM what would you do? {WoW}

Apr 30th 2009 12:38PM What shard did you play on? I used to be a GM on a freeshard UO server, and I ran a lot of the events that you listed here. Those were good times.

Curse, WoW Interface band together to block WoWMatrix {WoW}

Apr 14th 2009 3:36PM All your points are completely worthless, honestly.

If you go to their site and have a chance to view their ads, whether you do not click them or ad block them, they are are fine with that. At least the opportunity is there, even if it isn't.

This situation is based directly on another service linking to direct downloads that hog their bandwidth and use their own advertisements to generate revenue off of anothers overhead.

Curse and/or WI are not required to provide a comparable service. If WM wants to provide that service, they have the option to host the files themselves.

Also, as someone stated, sometimes WM will pull the file directly from the author's site. That is not at issue here, so it is a moot point. Those are not being blocked, and unless the author has specifically asked them not to do so, then it is not an issue either.

The problem here is that you all feel as if you are entitled to something. You're not, and Curse and WI can choose to block WM as much as they want regardless of whether or not you agree with them. If you don't like the services that either of these sites provide, you're welcome to not visit them, but that also means that they do not need to provide you with a means to obtain these addons through other sources either.

Curse, WoW Interface band together to block WoWMatrix {WoW}

Apr 14th 2009 10:28AM Anybody who is arguing in favor of WM does not properly understand what this whole situation is about. What WM does is directly link downloads from sites such as Curse and WI.

While it does provide an easy to use environment for people to update their addons, it does so at the expense of those undertaking the substantial costs of these sites. They are solely supported by Ad revenue and premium memberships. If people use a site or service that directly links downloads to Curse or WI they are using their bandwith while removing the income generated by these sites.

Simply put, if everyone used WM and never actually visited either of the sites that it steals bandwidth from, those sites would be forced to shut down due to the inability to pay for the own bandwidth use. The WM service in itself it self defeating and is stealing from legitimate services. Then, they turn around and generate their own revenue through ads, while they do not have to incur any of the costs.

If WM was to host their own files, with proper links to the original sources, it would be a different story. This is a theft of bandwidth issue. If you do not understand that and just get behind WM because it is convenient to you, then you are part of the problem, and when sites like Curse and WI can no longer afford to operate, it will be the fault of all those who use such a service.

UPDATED: Brew of the Year removed from Brewmaster achievement on PTR {WoW}

Mar 6th 2009 5:59PM I can't believe all the people complaining about the removal of ONE part of a meta acheivement. The only reason people are so upset about this is because they thought they were special because they had the foresight to start the Brew of The Month Club in time to complete this year.

Big deal. Not everyone had that option. Some people might have been out of game, some new players, some Death Knights.

You just thought you had the one up on some people and now you don't... It's not as if it is that easy to get the proto drake. It is still alot of effort over a long period of time.

Grow up.

Countdown to Wrath giveaway special: Slashdance loot cards {WoW}

Nov 13th 2008 7:17AM Why am I up at this hour?

Well, unfortunately I miscalculated the time I had left on my WoW account and my playtime ran out just before the roll over into Wrath.

Also unfortunately, the expiration date on the family credit card just changed, and thus my billing was denied. My wife has the card, but was out for the evening, so I am waiting here staring at the door just waiting for her to walk in so I can pounce, get the card, and get myself into Northrend.

So, I feel this card would emphasize my excitement when I finally here those keys jingling in the door.
