Nov 8th 2008 8:12AM This would go surprisingly well with my soon-to-be Unholy Deathknight :)
Oct 7th 2008 10:25PM I'm looking forward to being one of the (hopefully) good DK tanks out there. I've been doing all my research and know all the ability rotations and optimal tanking specs. Even while levelling I will be taking the majority of tanking talents from Unholy and Blood in order to be able to quickly drop into DPS mode.
I'm quite thankful for these posts though as I have never played a tank and there are some pointers here that really help!
Sep 21st 2007 9:56AM I recently quit WoW and have SSC/TK gear and will be selling my Paladin for around $1.2k US. It's a very small return on a long and painful investment.
Aug 29th 2007 12:14AM A lot of these macros are rather unoptimized as many of them can be cast at the same time due to the lack of global cooldown on a few things. An example would be bubble-hearthing. Items and Spells share different global cooldowns, so you can start hearthing as SOON as you hit DS like so..
/cast Divine Shield
or if you're a Holy Pally you can seal/judge in the same button press most of the time (because Judgement isn't on GCD) by simply going
/cast Seal of Light/Wisdom
The above macro is bad for Ret though because it doesn't reseal, just seal/judge.
One of my favourite macros for healing when running the Quartz cast bar showing lag is as follows.
#showtooltip Holy Light
/cast Divine Favor
/cast [target=mouseover] Holy Light
This will cast a guaranteed crit, max rank Holy Light on whoever your mouse is over. The stopcasting at the start is in order to make use of the Quartz lag meter so that you can get the quickest chain-casts off as possible. This methodology can also be applied to Flash of Light (which works especially well with Quartz because of the GCD timer display.
Apr 15th 2007 7:19PM Poly is subject to dimishing returns in the same way fear is. If this change weren't a bug it still wouldn't be enough to make me go back to my Mage. Mudification FTL. I believe Blizzard calls it "Normalization".
Mar 29th 2007 7:25PM We're a small guild working through Karazhan and we're already feeling the respawn pinch. Our first night in there we took our time clearing trash on Midnight and had repops before we got to him which (of course) all added once we engaged.
I personally would like to see harder/larger trash pack pulls but with only the soft 6hr respawn.
Nov 21st 2006 8:26PM It was the Mage patch for me with 30% threat reduction and 6% +hit. Of course, Blizzard, in their infinite wisdom are nerfing these two things that fixed the Mage class. G-freakin-G
Nov 10th 2006 10:25PM This isn't that impressive. I have a video of a 3-man UBRS using a Warrior in full Wrath with Thunderfury and the Engineering shield that deals damage when you block. He's supported by a Priest and a Paladin. They kill everything up to The Beast without any real problem.
Nov 9th 2006 9:10PM We're the second or third most progressed Horde guild on the Proudmoore server and we're feeling this pinch too. We've not had a full 40 people turn up for Naxxramas at all as yet and we have no intention of recruiting before the expansion. What we've had to do is find another guild in a similar situation (this one specifically preparing for 25-man raiding in expansion) and invite some of their members along to fill the spots.
Oct 27th 2006 11:19AM In open Beta I mucked around with an Undead Mage until level 14 or so when the Beta ended.
First retail char was a NE Hunter on some arse-end of nowhere server. At about level 18 I gave up on him thanks to that godawful buzzbox quest and rolled a Human Female Mage on Proudmoore. Got her to 60 and got sick of being hit on by other guys as well as wanted to PVP (3:1 Alliance:Horde imbalance on Proudmoore) so I rerolled an Undead Mage and am now in one of the most successful guilds on the server.
Funny how I ended up back at Undead Mage after starting one in open Beta :)
