Oct 1st 2010 2:47PM Actually, I'm pretty sure they've clarified that the "have all the legendaries in the guild somewhere" guild acheivement is one of the few that actually counts stuff done pre-Cataclysm. I think it's specifically on *having* instead of *acquiring*.
Sep 30th 2010 1:57PM Encrypted cinematics? Thank you Blizzard! Pretty much my entire guild ended up yelling at one of our members two days after WotLK hit because he had looked in the game folders and decided to tell everyone in-detail about the Wrathgate cinematic he watched without actually earning it, without even thinking that anyone would possibly be bothered by spoilers.
Sep 21st 2010 12:31PM Amaxe: I've noticed on my Death Knight, who has the Brewmaster title thanks to completing it all last year, that the quest to get the stein wasn't available. On my Paladin, who I started in May, was able to get the quest, but it rewarded last year's stein and FoS acheivement. I think that quest is still bugged to think it's last year's Brewfest, so if you already have last year's stein you can't do the quest.
I put in a ticket, but I'm pretty sure everyone else in all of WoW did the same. Hopefully they'll fix that during maintenance today.
Sep 15th 2010 8:38PM I think one of the more interesting things I've heard regarding the canonicity of things spoken by characters in a work of fiction was at a Q&A session with Robert Jordan at the last DragonCon he was able to attend before his death. Someone asked him details regarding something one of the bad guys of the Wheel of Time series had told the hero in an attempt to turn him or at the very least demoralize him, (and I don't consider this spoilers, as it's in the first book), specifically that the Light's chosen champion, in various turnings of the wheel, had betrayed the Light to serve the Dark One instead of fighting him in every single incarnation, and RJ's response was, "And you believed him?"
I think Blizzard tends to follow the same philosophy when it comes to such things... The statements made by the characters in WoW are not necessarily true, or even correct.
Sep 15th 2010 8:21PM I'm still going to wait until Cataclysm goes live to make my Rogue... I tried a long time ago with a Night Elf, and didn't really like the class, but the Combat Spec just seems to fit perfectly with a Worgen, and the class has changed a LOT since then and will be changing more.
Sep 15th 2010 8:36AM But, if they replace Bobby Flay with a better chef, then Iron Chef won't have video-game-style difficulty levels anymore (with Flay being, of course, Easy mode). :p
Sep 14th 2010 9:27PM NOOOOOOO!!! They removed the most awesome talent name EVER?!
Sep 13th 2010 10:25AM vocenoctum: Oh Gods, they found a bloody Standard Template Construct for Mechanostriders... That's a horrifying thought, actually.
Sep 7th 2010 5:53PM Your PC might actually be able to run Starcraft 2... My 2.5-year-old Alienware laptop died from an overheated video card (thanks to having a overheat-prone card and my roommate putting stuff on the table behind the computer...), and I'm currently running it on the Everex laptop I had before that one, which is at least three years old at this point and on loan from my dad.
You might not be able to run it on full graphics, but it should still run.
Aug 29th 2010 10:55AM Death Knights are in an odd boat... They're not fully undead, IIRC (well, except for the Forsaken ones, of course).
