Feb 23rd 2012 9:19AM My old guild on Moon Guard was an all dwarf RP-PvP guild called the Mountain Guard. At the height of our power, we launched a couple of all dwarf attacks on Orgrimmar. Battling in the canyons, capturing buildings, and causing havok until we were forced out. That was memorable.
Feb 6th 2012 10:03AM Like any other aspect of the game, RP is something you have set times for doing. I RP a lot, I'm a heavy RPer, but the majority of my game time is spent OOC. Then when I want to, I jump IC, dropping my character into whatever situation I think would be fun or interesting to play out. If I'm farming and I see a bunch of people RPing, I'll go IC, come up with a quick reason why my character would be in this location, and tuh-dah!
Things like death can be handled. For example, one of my favorite characters is the ghost of a power-hungry highbourne. That ghost can be destroyed, but just like the villian in Sabriel, she'll come back because she's bound herself to the mortal plane. However, for my dwarf paladin, I just ignore death. He didn't die, he was injured, or knocked out, or feigned death.
No-one can be IC 100% of the time. The key is to be able to jump from OOC to IC at the drop of a hat and be able to have that make sense. That's the real challenge of RP in WoW.
And just like dungeoning, or battlegrounds, or farming, sometimes you're just not in the mood for RP.
Jan 23rd 2012 7:35PM That wouldn't solve the problem. Humans need a complete redesign. If I wanted to play a blood elf I would play a blood elf.
I played a human mage (male) since Vanilla and race-changed in Cata. Even back in Vanilla I, and many others, were unsatisfied with the human animations. Rossi, I think you might be surprised with how many of us who play humans wish Blizzard would change them. At least redo the run animation, for the love of the Light!
Jan 21st 2012 11:40PM I'm wondering if the Moonwell Chalice is any good. I know it's not as powerful as the Foul Gift, but for a fire mage, the ability to hit that mastery booster right before throwing out your combust might be worth it. I find that often I'm tossing out combusts without the Gift active because I really can't afford to ignore that fireball crit.
I also have to wonder if there's a better add-on that Combustion Helper. As far as I can tell, it really doesn't help you find a good ignite too much. Or am I reading it wrong?

You're right. My brother-in-law is over for Christmas and it's got me a bit on edge. I needed a rant. Sorry. :(
Dec 25th 2011 10:25PM Note: My comment was completely genuine. There are more than a few of us who wish society would stop worshiping the knuckledragggers of our society and marginalizing those of us who actually have the brains and the compassion to fix it. There are many men who do not enjoy football, who do not pretend to enjoy pain, who don't like fart jokes, and who are not gay.
However, it seems society has two categories for our sort of person. If you're not attractive and have that less traditionally masculine mindset you're a nerd. But, if you are attractive and act that way you're gay. These are harmful stereotypes.
Dec 25th 2011 10:14PM Further stereotyping of strait men. Do we all have to be heartless meatheads who like physical conflict?! What, a smart, kind man has to be gay? For ONCE I would like to see a heroic, strait man who is not a complete ass or a superhuman warrior with bulging biceps. Is that too much to ask for? (I happen to believe Terenas was such a man, do we have to assume he's gay?)
Dec 25th 2011 10:10PM Most of those drawings are not of the face of an intelligent, peaceloving child. They make him look like an impish bully and a jerk. These artists must not have known many intelligent or kind kids. For once, I think Blizzard's ingame representation of their character is far better than the concept art.
Dec 23rd 2011 8:14AM We run an all dwarf RP-PvP Guild on Moon Guard. That one's a bit of an interesting story. I think the guild's died and came back to life three or four times. "Hey guys, there's only three people ever on, I think we should give up and find a new home." Two weeks later we get twelve people to show up to an event. The Dwarven Vanguard, making use of stoneform every day!

My main is a night elf mage, currently unguilded. I really really really really really really want the Legendary staff. Something I can take away from this expansion and say "I GOT THIS!" The thing is, I've never raided prior to the LFR system. Now I'm gearing up through the new dungeons and the LFR, though I still have 4 PvP pieces equiped. I pull between 17-19k dps. What should I do?
