Jan 25th 2012 10:02AM As to WHY the words weren't being censored, I don't think there's any grand conspiracy of intolerance going on. It's simply that the group put in charge of making the filters were a bunch of tards. My apologies. The word tards is offensive, I know this because it's filtered.
Except that retard and tard aren't. But tards is? Ya, the filter is clearly just poorly put together and not specifically targeting or omitting words.
That said, I don't see any reason NOT to add words to the filter when a fairly public outcry is made about them. People have already asked for words like retard and fag to be added to the filter and I don't see any reason for Blizz to debate or take their time getting around to adding it to the filter. The filter is OPTIONAL. People using it don't want to see all kinds of words (or don't want their children seeing) and people not using it will get to see all the words they're inured to.
No need for debate, Blizz. Absolutely nobody is going to sue you for having an overzealous language filter because those people will just turn it off and never see it again.
