The Queue: Scroll of Resurrection {WoW}

Mar 7th 2012 11:34AM It's an interesting question. The promotion (for the lvl 80 boost) is only on for 90 days, so it could be that it's just a drive to pump subscriber numbers for the end of the financial quarter. On the other hand, it could very well be a new service that blizzard can roll out to fast track folks to the end game. I know some people like the levelling game, but I wouldn't mind a choice on skipping the largely obsolete parts of the game if I could (having levelled a number of alts to 85 already).
I like that it only takes you up to the beginning of the current content so you still have to level through the cataclysm content to make sure you have at least some experience with the class before being thrown into LFRs.

The Queue: Everything is better with a ukulele {WoW}

They could always cap the progress like with guild rep, but across an account rather than on a character. Another possibility would be to only award rep once per day for a particular daily quest across an account (assuming rep was accumulated on the account not the character).

Feb 22nd 2012 11:43AM There is a working 64bit client exe but it's not automatically installed as part of a patch yet. You have to specifically download it from blizzard (there are 3 files I believe).
I haven't got the link handy, but you can find it easily by doing a search.

I've been running it fine since just after 4.3.2 hit.

Feb 21st 2012 9:32AM Taking advantage of people is wrong. Making money off people who choose of their own free will to buy a product, not so much.

Arcane Brilliance: MoP talent calculator changes for mages, part 1 {WoW}

Feb 20th 2012 9:05AM I'm with Paul on this one. I think the shield won't absorb any damage at all during it's duration. You'll take the damage but at the end get a HoT that heals you back up for the amount of damage taken during the duration of the shield.
I expect it's possible to die during this if you take too much damage before the healing kicks in. This will be useful if you know you're about to take a large hit that shouldn't kill you.

Breakfast Topic: Do you have a crush on a minor NPC? {WoW}

Feb 16th 2012 8:22AM I initially read that as 'do you have a crush on an npc minor'...

Wrong on so many levels.

Feb 9th 2012 11:52AM Q for the Q:

Do you think we will see any of the other unused islands (Baldor, Crestfall, Kul Tiras etc.) appear in MoP, or do you think we will be pretty much centered on Pandaria?
Given the Jaina angle (Theramore events), I'd like to see the story of Kul Tiras explored more.

Feb 1st 2012 11:42AM I don't think you'll be able to get it removed unless it's a trial account. I had the same issue. The customer service rep I spoke to basically said because I paid for the game and expansion (mine was BC too) they weren't allowed to remove it, even though there were no chars on the account and the subscription had long since expired.

Patch 4.3.2 released today, launch your clients early [Updated patch notes] {WoW}

Jan 31st 2012 10:32AM The optimisation is cleanup on your Wow installation directory to remove the obsolete patch files and hopefully return a few GB of disk space to you.
It is nothing to do with the 64 bit client.
