Operation: Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall events over {WoW}

Operation: Gnomeregan and Zalazane's Fall events over {WoW}

Oct 13th 2010 6:44AM Y'know, all I ever read in your post is "Waaa, waaa, Blizzard did something I didn't like!"
Just quit already and save your cash for something you enjoy.

O:G and ZF have been live for WELL over a month now, well over twice as long as any holiday season. If her computer's been down that long, then you weren't super pushed to sort it out. Don't moan at Blizzard because you can't get something done in a more-than-reasonable timescale.

Oh, and if you want to moan and say "Well they didn't warn me it was going in 4.0.1!" you wait until you have a real job and your boss suddenly asks for that project you thought you had another month to finish. If you're smart, you've been working on it and have something to show - if you're a douche and have put it all off until the last minute, too bad. Them's the brakes.

Blood Pact: Conjuring DPS rotations for patch 4.0.1, part 1 {WoW}

Oct 5th 2010 7:35AM In almost all situations, if there's no Unholy DK or Boomkin, CoE. The boost far outweighs the loss, even if your DPS were to suffer, any mages, shadow priests or other locks are going to love you for it; and ultimately, your personal DPS doesn't matter in the long run, it's the raids TOTAL DPS*.

*This is a point I wish many "raiders" would get into their heads - raiding is teamwork, the numbers next to your name don't matter in the long run (especially the 1., 2. or 3. etc) but what DOES matter is the total DPS your raid does to the boss.

Blood Pact: Conjuring DPS rotations for patch 4.0.1, part 1 {WoW}

Oct 5th 2010 7:26AM @Brett Prior to this article, the previous Blood Pact was on 10th September. That's not a 7 day cast time, that's 25 days.

I'm loving your writing Eli, but the time between articles has been unpredictable and silly at best; any word if we should be more regular from here on out? Not having a go at all, I just relish these columns (I do love your writing) and find the cooldown on them unabidingly harsh.

Blood Pact needs a buff :P

Arcane Brilliance: Catching up on mage Cataclysm changes {WoW}

Oct 3rd 2010 5:09AM I may end up rolling mage to main... Fire spec sounds awesome and we 'locks haven't had a column since Sept 19th, and no dedicated weekly since the 19th...

The Lawbringer: 5 ways trade chat can get you in trouble {WoW}

Oct 1st 2010 7:59PM Boy would you fail as a thief... If you come through the door, grab an item, turn 360 and run for the door...

...chances are you're now in the staff room.

360 is a complete circle...

Breakfast Topic: What will you miss most from the Wrath era? {WoW}

Oct 1st 2010 4:59AM Really? Because, for me, the new Mulgore music is beautiful, the new piece called "Night Elves" is astoundingly well done (made me almost want to roll NElf...), the new Tanaris music...

I think they've really captured the essence of each zone and race in the music whilst keeping the themes (Barrens theme is still there, the Elwynn theme gets played with in Westfall).

Kudos to the music team on this one, I just hope that the music on the Collectors Ed. CD actually has a decent proportion of it this time around, it's annoying to have an OST with only 25% of the music on it.

Cataclysm beta removes portals from Dalaran and Shattrath {WoW}

Sep 27th 2010 3:50AM Forgive me here, but to those worrying about having trouble going through BC or Wrath content because there are no capital cities nearby - I point you to the article above and hand you a pair of glasses.

The portals have been replaced by class trainers.

The only other reason to head back to a capital city is for the AH which, as so many have already pointed out, you can park an alt outside of and send them the items. How ever did we cope in Vanilla when there was only ONE AH per Faction, no portals and an hours wait to send mail to an alt? :P

The Queue: Hard (Stone)core {WoW}

Sep 26th 2010 1:54PM I don't want to sound like I'm moaning, as I really like Eli's style, but when will we see a stable Warlock column? It's annoying that all the other classes have (at least) one column a week (and several have multiple) yet we 'locks are lucky if we get one column every 2-3 weeks?

Breakfast Topic: Do you prefer to be the off tank? {WoW}

Sep 19th 2010 8:34AM I'll admit to similar experiences to the author, but whilst he has switched into a tanking role, I stick to my warlock.

I have very fond memories of SSC and BT in a progression guild then, and the sheer exhilerating thrill of tanking Leotheras or Illidan. Fighting for server firsts with two other guilds on Illidan (which we then thought was THE last boss) really drove that up, going from DPSing as hard as I could to suddenly having to grab and maintain aggro on the latter phases...

I'll never be a tank main, but I have always enjoyed that little bit of warlock-tanking fun; from VW tanking S3D, up to Blood Princes - I'll miss TBC, but I'll cope :)
