Sep 7th 2010 11:55AM All of the in the article mentioned reasons, minus previous Beta-experience... and change wife-aggro with boyfriend-aggro. With the spoiler reason at the very top of my list.
Aug 31st 2010 1:02PM Oh yeah, what he said...seconded.
Tricky quests and hard to do stuff on appropriare level tips seem nice. And Remtravel is definatly a good example of this.
Or tips how to solo (or small group) still tricky or even bloody hard instances (as they are not designed to solo) on current existing characters with currently possible specs and gear that currently is available and might help. Just for fun.
Aug 31st 2010 12:43PM I used to find the cataclysm stuff fun at the beginning... till i seen that which intrested me the most. The look of the new races, possible voices for them and a very very rough idea of what to expect (stylistically for the zones). Just a little teaser. Just like the very occasional screenshot I look at. Those are points of intrest that i like to know... but don't give away to much. Giving to much away would be a feeling to me when cat finally hits like... oh this feel familiar, not exciting anymore. For me it would take the wow out of wow. I want to experience the expansion when it hits, explore it, discover it.
So I am not tired of cataclism... can't wait for it to get released... i do tire about hearing about it. It's pretty hard to keep excited about hearing stuff that's months away, doesn't affect you at the moment in any way while playing and what you hear might never happen as such. Knowing not to much keeps stuff new as well, no false expectations or disappointments due to stuff not being implemented as I hoped they would due to information.
Aug 21st 2010 8:58AM I concider all time I am logged in playing.... unless I am purely chatting about non wow stuff on the channels (so rp-ing doesn't count as non playing, neither is chatting about gear, strats and so on), or am truely afk (tend to do drawing and such at the same desk as my computer with wow is on) and only glancing at times at a stationary toon waiting for an instance/BG or something to pop with an occasional space bar push to avoid disconnecting from server as the keyboard is about 20 inches from where I am drawing anyway.
Aug 20th 2010 5:38AM I just started healing as a resto shammy. I love it and try to heal everyone as well as I can. Even if they clearly make mistakes (we all do at times)... I have a fair bit of patience. And even big egoes if I can heal them I will. And even annoying tanks (dps as well) if they know their job well need to be kept up as much as possible as it helps the group survive/progress. So i heal even if they seem to want to stroke their epeen mostly and try to do as much dps as possible despite everything or are very impatient rushers. And it's going pretty well.
What i can't stand is rude and inconciderate behavure or worse. And not just towards me. The other 4 people aren't there just for you... you are not a god... top dps or geared out of the eyeballs IIC tank... Yelling and insulting people isn't going to make me like you no matter what GS you have or what achievements. Nor does it help the group get better generally. I become a lot less patient with those people.
I did have a tank die on purpose after i told him I was a fairly new healer and prefered not suicide pulls of half the room. He/she told me pretty much screw that (insults removed for PG-reasons ;) )... I don't have time for that, learn to freaking heal and pulled half the room anyway and proceeded to blame me for the fact he died with more insults. One other dps actually agreed with him... called me a noob among other things. The other two laughed with me luckily... said good riddens and after we replaced them we had a smooth run... with a tank who was as new to tanking as i was to healing. We didn't make it in 15 minutes to clear the instance... granted.... but we did have a lot of fun and made good time.
That's why i play... to have fun and hopefully have other people have fun too. Even silent speed runs can be good in that way, diffrent kind of fun. People that are fun.. get all the heals i can give them no matter how much mistakes they make or how silly they are.
Aug 13th 2010 2:22AM I took a break for about 6 weeks, didn't miss the game at all after the first week. Got bored (actually a few sick days) and reinstalled the game (still had a prepayed card conveniently at home) and made a new alt and rp plans. The alt happened, the rp didn't as much. It's pretty slow on that front as well. Not to many people around. But it was nicely and relaxed messing about on wow. Though it were relatve short sessions compared to the "old days". After 10 alts it does become a bit did this done that. If i install a new card after this one runs out I will be trying to solo dungeons on my main who is a blood dk's who are still no cataclysm tank spec (oh how i'll miss it... love blood, don't like tanking), collecting pets on my hunter and vanity pets on my warlock, hunting for nice pre cat screenshots, chatting with friends and guildies if any are on (not as much as i'd like), revisit some old quests (and actually reading them again) before the cataclysm wipes them out as well as some places for the same reason (reason for the alt), mess about on pvp with my baby hunter alt depending on wait-times and hopefully get some spontanious lighthearted rp. Key being only doing it when the mood takes me... and when I get bored I log out immediatly (unless i am in a group ofcourse). So i go days without and then suddenly a few hours in a row.
But all in al enough to keep me bussy when i feel like it.
Aug 2nd 2010 9:24AM Back on topic. As for what i still do even if i don't need to. I keep forgetting that there is an automatic gear change option. And i use a lot as I am pve-er, pvp-er and rp-er. So usually i am halfway done redressing my character before i remember... duh... and finish the rest with one press of a button. Which not always works... as i tend to forget to upgrade the item set too 9 out of 10 times while leveling ;) But hey... I do love the option a lot... if i remember to use it.
Aug 2nd 2010 9:14AM @Nadra: You are griefing. Till you move you are griefing... aka annoying other players just for your own fun, not theirs. You might not be griefing for hours but there isn't a minimum time for griefing. It's only a bit of fun? The fact people trying to fish and being disrupted whisper you to stop it, proves it's not fun for them. And even more to the point... it doesn't matter if it has been done to you. Have all the people you grief by making fishing impossible done that to you? Or are you just making new victims who didn't do anything wrong to you. And is it their medicine then? As for load of people do it as well... if all people jump into a hot pit of lava... would you?
