Nov 5th 2008 9:52AM I would like to reserve judgement until after the big December patch, but if I had to give an answer right now it would be a resounding NO.
I'm praying Mythic can get a better handle on class balance and squash the plethora of spell graphics bugs that are ruining what could be a truely great game.
Oct 30th 2008 1:29PM I'd ask if I can have your stuff, but your Tier 1 gear does me no good in Tier 4.
Oct 24th 2008 7:35AM With city sieges being such an epic undertaking at this point in the game, there really isn't any tangible reason for players to be out there taking keeps other than bragging rights. Xp and Renown bonuses are simply not enough as it's far more effecient to queue up for a scenario and get right into the fight rather than spending hours out in the open RvR lakes just to find one.
Perhaps Mythic really needs to consider adding in a Darkness Falls type dungeon to the game. Give whichever realm has the most keeps access to it and lock the other out until they can reclaim enough keeps to get back in. This would tide folks over until city sieges become more available.
Removing the Tier 4 scenarios would be a tough sell to those players that are currently 32+.
Oct 23rd 2008 6:57AM "If this game opts for a full, open PVP system it's going to crash and burn and suffer a slow, smouldering death before EA buries it...and Bioware with it. "
I agree 100%. The game needs to be all about the lore, the story, and immersion as this is what BioWare does best. Every MMO doesn't have to be about PvP and there are plenty of games already out there that cater to those that need and/or want it.
Oct 18th 2008 7:02AM MMO games could easily work and work well on consoles. There's more than enough horsepower under the hood to get the job done. Not to mention it would be easier on developers to code for one particular hardware configuration as opposed to hundreds, if not thousands like they would with a PC.
If it were up to me though, I wouldn't put John Smedley in charge of a potato gun. Yet S.O.E. seems content to continually set themselves up for failure with this guy.
Oct 17th 2008 7:06AM If I had to choose between running Tor Anroc every 15 minutes or having to wait an hour or more for the other scenarios to pop, I would choose to wait. I'm positively sick of running Tor Anroc.
Sad part is Tor Anroc is the only Tier 3 instance that Order will queue for with any regularity on both servers that I play on.
Oct 11th 2008 6:32AM "Disable the "Need" button on the loot roll window if:
1) the item is not for your class
2) the item is not for your race
If you can't equip it, you can't Need it."
This is my #1 complaint about the game at the present time. I constantly lose out on gear in scenarios to players who rool need and they can't even use the item.
Oct 9th 2008 10:06AM It's certainly nice to see Mythic is on the ball. Giving the AFKers a swift kick in the gibblets is a welcome change. If it were up to me the debuff would last a full 24 hours and make thier character unplayable.
Oct 4th 2008 2:47PM I would certainly agree that you need gold to claim a keep for any period of time. Yet if a guild is large enough to capture, claim, and defend a keep, then they most certainly have the funds available for it via the guild tax system. That's what it's there for.
Oct 4th 2008 9:12AM Good, I hope those players that purchase gold feel alienated and never subscribe to Warhammer. We don't want those lazy buggers in our game anyways, let them stay in Warcraft.
