Breakfast Topic: Some day my ding will come {WoW}

Aug 19th 2010 9:59AM My mage, my third 80, did it in about 6 days of /played time. This is with BoA gear. My druid, my second, was about 8.

Breakfast Topic: Some day my ding will come {WoW}

Aug 19th 2010 9:55AM My level cap was "Meh, whatever" on my Ret Paladin. This is when I was on my first server, before I migrated him over, and I was still really grumpy because I had broken up with my girlfriend (who introduced me to WoW, and with whom I was leveling the character with).

I do remember it took me several months after the fact that I no longer needed to run to the inn to log out. I guess an 80 level habit is hard to break. :P

The Art of War(craft): World PvP in the new Azeroth {WoW}

Aug 8th 2010 3:53PM Having leveled originally as Alliance on US-Kalecgos (where the Horde was 4:1 when I started playing) I switched to US-Sargeras, where it was a little more even. I had a few friends who had migrated ahead of me to Sargeras and it is in the same Battlegroup as Kalecgos, so it's not like I really left. But...man. What a difference. I can level almost exclusively as PvE on Sargeras and not really worry about being ganked. And if I do get killed it is generally in fights that I'm "supposed" to be able to have a shot at beating. Unless I'm absolutely FURIOUS at being ganked myself, I don't attack anyone outside of my honor range, and many times I just wave to the other person and ride on. No trouble.

I have a handful of 80s, and I'm fairly piss poor at solo PvP. I really only do well in Alterac Valley, where I can hide in a larger group of allies and nuke from range. But I have a lot of fun on my PvP servers. I have a few toons on other, PvE, servers. Senjin and the like, and I just...I'm bored there. I like seeing the comfort of the green zone name when I enter Stormwind, and I know that in five minutes I'll be safe from reprisal if I so choose. Likewise, seeing the yellow title of a contested territory and to hear the ominous chime when you enter..I don't know. It puts a bit more spring into my step.

Cata PvP will be interesting. I look forward to it.
