Apr 20th 2011 10:42AM My main is a tank. Always has been. Always will be.
I will NOT solo queue for LFD as it is. But if there were an option to queue for server-only LFD, I would queue, and probably every night of the week. I imagine server-wide queue times for medium to high pop servers would be shorter than the mroe general LFD queue times we have today.
Unrelated heroic anecdote:
Me: Hey ret pally Soandso, your DPS is sitting around 3.5k. Why are you in all tanking gear?
Soandso: Because I'm a tank.
Me: So why did you queue as DPS?
Soandso: Because I'm not good enough to tank heroics yet.
Me: Well, perhaps you should try queuing as a tank for normals instead of trying to DPS in completely inappropriate gear?
Soandso: STFU and worry about your own character.

Also, do you have mermaid parties beneath the sea?

Dec 16th 2010 4:08PM The assist key sometimes gets DPS into trouble.
It's happened several times that a DPS will assist me at the precise moment that I've switched to my secondary target, then proceed to unleash their entire toolkit.
This is why I tend to rely heavily on raid markers.
But the real key here is for DPS to just pay attention. Raid markers and the assist key are just tools.
Pay attention, and if you're screen starts flashing red, or Omen suddenly has your bar at the top, slow down, switch targets, or both.

The problem with your reasoning is that you are losing gold through opportunity cost. Since you can sell the mats you farm, if you use them, you are (in effect) spending however much gold you could have made.
Considering time invested, buying off the AH is more logical. Buy something from the AH in a few seconds...or fly out to a specific area and farm for 30 minutes.
(Granted you get other items while farming that are also profitable.)
Nov 24th 2010 10:38AM The first thing I did after a short flight to Bilgewater Harbor, was go hang out at Gallywix's Pleasure Palace with a few guildies.
A trade prince, a few waitresses, a jacuzzi/pool replete with diving board, and a relaxing sauna all combined to make an awesome place to forget about the whole world being nearly destroyed.
It's so awesome there that people were just dying to get in...
Nov 17th 2010 1:21PM Apologies for the forthcoming grammar nazi post.
"Can not" literally means that someone has the capability to not do something. I imagine that both Alex and Deathbypain meant to say "cannot." I.e. someone is incapable of doing something.

Oct 7th 2010 7:28AM Jay,
All that clause seems to state is that they can use the entrant's name, image, portrait, etc. in advertising and future promotions without having to pay more money.
It's similar to those "Look at these other people who have won! You could be one of them!" ads.
If one is terribly concerned about the facebook tie-in, it is easy to create a second account with next-to-no personal information. They can't use what is not given to them.
Oct 1st 2010 1:52PM While the changes to raid lockouts are great, it seems that for the Heroic Mode rules to work, they will be sticking with the UI switch for hard modes =(.
I miss Ulduar.
