Jan 27th 2012 12:02PM Brian, I had no idea that's how it worked! Ok well I feel a lot better now for contemplating it. I figure it'd take me too long to gear up MS first then go OS after so I'll see how it goes. I can imagine there'll some drama anyway.
My guild has been inactive for a couple of months now so this is the only way I can raid and gear up.
Jan 27th 2012 11:43AM Running the LFR on my Pally as healer, I keep seeing so many players roll Need on everything. Whether they already have it and plan to trade it, whether they want it for OS or have no possible use for it and just want to sell it. Everytime, if they can roll Need they will.
Up until now I've always passed on gear that I could really use for OS, because I felt as I was raiding in my MS I shouldn't roll on it...but seeing as how I even lose out on MS gear to people rolling on it for OS or just pure greed...should I just give in and join in. If I need it for either spec, should I just hit Need?
After all, it's not like it's against the rules...right?
Jan 26th 2012 10:32AM I love when that happens!
Last night I was in the LFR. I use it with the expectation to not win loot and have lots of childish tantrums occur around me. The Tier head Token dropped and another hunter won it. I was just about to ask why he'd rolled need since he already had it, when a trade window suddenly pops up and he trades it to me. I whispered saying thanks so much and he just replied "Np already had it :)"
At the Madness Of Deathwing the Polearm dropped and he whispered asking if I'd let him have it if I won? Since he was friendly about it and had just given me the Token before without asking for anything at the time, I thought why not, I've already won a piece of loot.
Funnily enough I did win the roll, so I traded it to him.
Besides, it's an ugly polearm, I'd much prefer to get the staff instead ;)
Jan 26th 2012 10:25AM I remember pugging ICC10 once, we got to Professor Putricide and luckily before we begin the fight, we noticed one of the hunters has gone and hidden in one of the corners of the room, activated Feign Death and gone AFK.
We kicked him and managed to get a new DPS from a guild instead.
Jan 26th 2012 10:09AM Well that guy is an asshole.
Jan 26th 2012 9:41AM I've had experiences with Guildies who decide to run dungeons and just 'troll' people for fun. It's disgusting.
I was in Shattered Halls once and had this Paladin Tank who was wearing everything from Cloth and Mail to Spirit Gear and an Agility sword! He was in with a dps guildie, and kept pulling massive groups then losing all aggro. Needing on everything he could even if it wasn't good for him and spent the entire time arguing with me, the healer and the other dps about idiotic things, like stats and claiming as a druid I should be wearing cloth because his main is a druid and he knows.
The next day I checked his character on the armory, he was fully clad in the appropriate gear and stats now and I realised he was just dicking with us the entire time.
I don't know what's more disgusting, players and guilds who act like this, or the fact Blizzard let's them and even punishes us when we try to name and shame these people!
Jan 26th 2012 9:34AM I hate those recound guys too! Do my head in! It's even worse when they link the Recount after the first trash pull of the dungeon.
Jan 26th 2012 9:31AM Also, whilst levelling my hunter I was in Grim Batol HC with a Druid Healer and three guildies. A tank in mostly Raid Finder gear, a DK in mostly raid finder gear and a mage about the same gear as us.
First boss the tank dies when the boss is at around 5%. Luckily I and the Mage get him down. So I just say "Tank, with that boss you need to get out of the way of Blitz."
Then I get politely told by the DK, Tank and Mage "Huntard, you need to do some DPS!" and some explicits. After I linked the DPS meter showing I was only 2k behind the Tier 13 clad DK they shut up and began on the healer instead.
After about ten minutes of them constantly swearing and shouting at the Healer because the Tank couldn't keep aggro despite his gear, saying everything from asking if he was a pedo to saying they were too busy masturbating to play properly I eventually just said "Sorry I'm really not in the mood to PUG with immature idiots." and left. I imagine the healer wasn't far behind.
I swear I never noticed such horrible attitudes from players before the end of Wrath, and it's only gotten worse.
Jan 26th 2012 9:22AM Far too many to list. Two spring to mind.
I was gearing up my hunter and so in Throne Of Tides HC. An Agility ring drops at the end so I roll Need, as does the DK tank and wins. I ask him "You realise that had Agi and not strength?" his response? "I'm a DK Healer."
It's this point I realise why someone in Tier 13 is tanking a lower HC like this. To troll people. Eventually after the group badger him enough he trades me it.
Back in Lich King I was pugging ICC10. I was healing on my shaman when we'd finished the Gunship and a healing mace dropped. (I think it was a mace anyway, it was a healing item let's say.) So I roll as does one of the other healers and one of the DPS. Who gets the top roll and the Raid Leader gives him it.
Hang on a second, that mace as got Spirit on it and at that point in time Spirit is a useless stat for a DPS! At which point the Raid Leader says no it's not, he won. I even linked him to pages about stats and what was good and bad. The winner of the roll was staying silent, the Raid Leader just kept arguing with me and the rest of the pug were just shouting "Who cares, let's go!".
So I dropped out. Quit the party and left them before Saurfang and thus extremely unlikely to get another healer.
It was also one of the last times I went along as a healer in a PUG run.
Jan 25th 2012 8:32AM Conventions aren't entirely about the announcements though, if I go it's because of the experience and getting to see those people behind the product in person, the Q&A panels, the stalls etc.
It seems strange they would cancel it just because they don't have a new product to announce.
