That's incorrect. You are describing a 2 roll system (one roll to determine crit, then another to determine block) when in reality it is a one roll system. If you push regular hits off of the table you also push critical hits off of the table (the game will only see it as a blocked hit, never a critical hit that was also blocked). The risk of not taking the crit talent would be, as Josh pointed out, a hit in the back if you were mispositioned could be a crit since you would not be able to block/parry/dodge said hit....
The only time it uses 2 rolls as far as i know is for the warrior mastery, one to determine if it's a miss/dodge/parry/block/hit and then another if that hit is blocked to determine if it's a crit block.
Mar 25th 2011 3:52PM I'm w/ this guy, (un)fortunately when you take on the RL mantle you accept further responsibility for the success of the raid... if the RL cannot be bothered to read raid chat then he fails.... and his whole airing of the dirty laundry in guild chat was juvenile and unprofessional.
Mar 22nd 2011 3:02PM I agree with this.... When I first tried tanking on my lowbie druid I was pretty shocked I had 2 abilities to damage/threat with, both on a 6 second cd... what was I supposed to do for the other 3 seconds? I guess I also had taunt (8 sec cd) and of course demo shout.... not too fun.... heh... that and I'm used to tanking on my max level warrior... where if you miss a gcd you're doing something wrong...
At least now in the low 20s I have an inturrupt! of course now I don't tank anyway and let my pally friend do that...
Feb 25th 2011 2:46PM Hmm, well you do have to down at least Cho'gal on Heroic before you can see Sinestra, so before 4.1 drops is unlikely I would expect unless you're close to working on heroic modes now.
Feb 17th 2011 4:33PM Everyone is short of tanks for dungeons.... It's the old need 1 tank for a 5 man, 2 for a 10 man and 2 for a 25 man (maybe 3 for certain strats to work)... and there are quite a few fights that are single tanked as well in raids, so your tanks have to be sure to bring a dps off spec.
So if you're looking for raid spots tank spots are some of the hardest to get....
Nov 8th 2010 3:23PM From my understanding there are only ever 2 tiers of points, the current raid will drop Valor points (I think that's the name) while the old tier and heroics will drop justice points. Justice points can buy old tier stuff (Like the triumph badges of pre 4.0.1) while Valor points buy the current tier stuff (like frost badges of pre 4.0.1).
The justice points that we have today will indeed be able to buy level 85 stuff... but from what I understand it's only blues and such and not many (if any) epics to be had, so it's actually lower tier than the old school heroism badges... also at the current cap (4k) i think we're only going to be able to buy at most 2 pieces....
Sep 7th 2010 10:43AM Ummm, both you and Rossi are wrong, the old glyph increased block VALUE by 10% not chance. (the link that he has in the article indicates this as well.
Don't you have the Damage Shield talent? That could also be considered damaging themselves on your shield... ;)
