Jan 10th 2012 3:22PM I'd just like to add, that while pvp gear is not that great for warriors and paladins, DK tanks actually do just fine with it due to the large amount of self healing they are capable of, and the subsequent blood shields that proc from those heals.
I don't have the numbers, but I tanked all through trolls/base heroics on last seasons conquest gear. This season's honor gear would be a fine place to start for the Twilight instances.
Jan 10th 2012 11:58AM Well, you can look at transmogrification two ways.
1) The way most probably look at it: changing the appearance of your current gear.
2) The way that Jaygath is point out: changing the stats of your old gear.
You get to keep the look and upgrade the stats.
Also bear in mind that legendaries are restricted for -now-. But at the time of the release it was vaguely hinted that it would be a possibility they would look into unlocking later.
Jan 9th 2012 3:56PM Dungeons of any sort only grant guild rep if done with a guild group. A guild group consists of 3+ guild members.
So in order to get guild rep, you'd need 2 more guildies queing with you in LFD.

He wasn`t using the lightyear as a measure of time, but as distance. As in, in the metaphorical footrace of technology, we have passed the 80s and left it in the dust. Miles, parsecs, kilometers... all could be substituted.
Dec 22nd 2011 1:29PM Just take the portal to Uldum and fly. It's ultimately much faster than going to dalaran.
Dec 16th 2011 7:40AM It used to be you only got your points for the week on Tuesday after the reset. Now you get them after each victory. There has always been a cap, however, so no big change there.
Nov 1st 2011 12:48PM Honestly, just go buy some appropriate Cata greens. You can start wearing them at 78 and this will give you all the boost you need in the starter zones. It will also make you pretty epic for the last two levels of Northrend :-)
Aug 16th 2011 6:07PM I have to disagree with the section on PvP gear. This is purely anecdotal , but I'm sure an enterprising young theory crafter could back it up with solid numbers:
When I first hit 85 on my DK, the Firelands patch had just hit. I didn't really feel much like grinding on heroic instance drops on yet another character, so I hopped on my blacksmith and made all of the new season crafted gear. I queued up for a few heroics in this gear and found myself easily out DPSing characters that were in heroic quality gear or less. So, with just a little money spent on crafted PvP gear, I skipped that whole grind. This meant that my dungeon runs were running quicker and I was getting JPs and VPs easier and didn't feel like I was being dragged through.
Fast forward a bit and I've gotten 1-2 tanking drops from Trollroics, full season 10 pvp honor gear, and a few conquest pieces. Mix that together with the tanking cloak from the thrall quest and the tanking rings, relic, and bracers from Molten Front dailies, and I'm now tanking Trollroics with ease. I've got about 5 pieces of Epic pvp gear mixed in, the rest is standard tank stuff.
Is it optimal? No. Am I going to be tanking raids? Probably not, but I could be soon. But, and this is the most important question, does it work? Oh yes.
So no, don't write off the PvP gear for filling in slots that you can't otherwise easily fill in. For tanking, try to aim for the pieces with Mastery if you need to fill out slots. But don't forget that all that huge armor and strength converts into damage reduction and parry rating. A lot of it. I currently have 14% parry and 10.5% dodge unbuffed. I forget where my mastery is sitting, number wise, but it's somewhere around 100% healed to blood shield ratio.
DPS is even easier. Given the choice between a heroic ilevel blue and a season 10 honor epic that is 25 ilevels above it, I'll go for the honor gear every time. You'll gear up faster and be ready for raiding in no time. You can essentially skip all the way from quest gear to DPSing Trollroics with just some gold spent. Far better than spending endless days farming heroics to have gear good enough to get into troll heroics. You'll save yourself quite a lot of grinding and be that much closer to your goal.
Sep 27th 2010 12:49PM Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe killing the goblins on the boat in Venture Bay Grizzly hills grants a positive rep gain with the various oldworld goblin factions. Worth a try.
Sep 22nd 2010 10:35PM Wow, from a tanks perspective, I can see Smoke Bomb being a very useful tool in pulling troublesome caster mobs. Have the tank start a pull and drop a smoke bomb on him... Poof! Instant LoS pull. Handy!
