Breakfast Topic: Do character naming schemes help you or confuse you? {WoW}

Feb 19th 2011 9:23PM Name-schemes often end up being really funny, and it makes it an easy way to identify people. I was lucky enough to grab the name "Toad" for my main, and my first alt was "Toadette." Follow her were "Protoad," "Mechatoad," "Weretoad" and "Doat" - Which is Toad backwards. Unfortunately, Toadstool and Nematoad were both taken.

It makes it so people can tell who you are, and it eventually forces you to get a little creative. I love them.

Making the dungeon finder suck less {WoW}

Jan 5th 2011 1:49PM I think an invisible rep system would work perfectly.

If you're running with a mage who's always on top of his CC, you could give him/her a "thumbs up," however if the rogue always is breaking this mages CC you could give him a "thumbs down." To prevent guildies just giving each other thumbs up, they could limit it to people outside your guild or outside of the group you queued with originally.

Successfully finishing a dungeon would also give you a little 'rep' and being kicked out would take away some, about the same amount. Even if you're kicked for DCing, that does add to making you unfavorable, and you could always make up this 'rep' by running another.

This way, in the end, the players who always do well and are the most liked would have the fastest queues, though, new players would be at a disadvantage, but that's hard to stop.

All the World's a Stage: Can't find the roleplay, page 2 {WoW}

Jan 2nd 2011 10:38PM Beautiful.

Reading the RP articles here makes me wish there was a stronger RP community on our server, but I'm sure I can find some people sooner or later.

I wish you wrote this article a long time ago, back when I was on my other sever. It would have been really helpful. Not that there were too many "I am the son of Illidan and a draenei, ignore the fact that I'm a bloodelf." But, there were a lot of people who simply had a character too long, if you know what I mean.

Thinking about my old character, it makes me wonder if the people I RP'd with had low standards, or if my character wasn't as bad as I remember...

In the end, thanks for this. It was interesting to read, even though I'm not actively RPing, yet!
