Breakfast Topic: Are you an Azerothian prankster? {WoW}

Jun 3rd 2011 10:51AM Our mage raid leader likes to play "portal roulette" at the end of a raid. He's throws every portal he has in the same place so you have no clue where you are going to end up. Everyone has a giggle at where everyone ends up, then as I seem to shout every week...why is it always Shatt? It's nice to end an intense night of raiding with a little bit of silliness.

Arcane Brilliance: The mage survival guide, part 1 {WoW}

Feb 6th 2011 3:21PM "if the tank dies, it's the healer's fault"...one of the worst statements every uttered and one that too many people take as an absolute. If you are a ret pally and que as tank with no tank gear and no tank spec and you die, not my fault. If you are que'ing for a dungeon that you have never done before and run in and face pull before I even have buffs and mana and you die, not my fault. If you are in a run that you are not over geared for and do not allow the dps to cc and you die, not my fault. If the dps pulls the adds all over the room and drops them on me and you die cuz I am trying to keep myself alive while you keep one add and do not even attempt to pull aggro back cuz you are of the mentality "you pulled it, you deal with it", not my fault. I have no problem taking blame when it is my fault...but I will not be blamed for bad players, bad tanks, bad gear, bad specs, or anyone else's failure to do their job.

Feb 6th 2011 3:07PM "I can't haul the whole pile along in a big conga line..."
OMG, thank you so much for this visual...almost put Coke thru my nose laughing. I will remember this every time our guild tanks are trying to pick up that extra mob as one of the mages are nuking it. We are working our way thru Ulduar hard modes and cheeves just for fun and I totally saw Pally tank from the last raid being followed by all the adds on Razorscale and all of them doing the Conga.

Raid Rx: 7 pet peeves of healers {WoW}

Jan 21st 2011 2:45PM People that que for heroics, especially healers, with no water, no food, nothing. If you are queing for a dungeon, reg or heroic...bring what you need to do that job. I don't want to stand around and wait for you to recover mana on your own. Don't assume that you will have a mage in the party by sheer dumb luck that is going to provide you cake. Or that I am going to give up what I have left from the mage that was nice enough to give it to me 3 dungeons ago. Bring food for health recovery, bring buff food for a little extra on those tough fights, and bring drinks if you require mana. One daily will pay enough gold to buy a stack of drinks...its not that hard people.

Breakfast Topic: Moments of pleasant surprise {WoW}

Dec 12th 2010 1:32PM I have many favorite moments with guildies, friends, and loved ones that play. But the ones that stick are the ones with complete strangers. I run a druid healer, and healing is a whole new game in Cata. Mana is always an issue. I finally worked up the nerve to que for my first Cata random as a healer. Stonecore. First thing I said was hello and asked the tank to go easy on me since I had never been here before. The tank said ok and was wonderful. I got lots of compliments and we were doing great. Until the final boss. After 3 wipes, I told the group I would give it one more shot, and if I failed again I would leave so they could find a new healer. I had been doing so well, I was so happy. And now I wanted to cry thinking I was a fail healer. The group told me to stay, we got this, we'll figure it out. Then the hunter said that his main is a druid healer and gave me lots of advice. I tried his method and as we went he called out reminders to me. We got through it easily. I could have cried for joy. I wasn't fail, I just hadn't learned all of the new changes and rotations. One nice guy I've never met before and a group willing to help each other...to help total strangers...returned my confidence. Where ever and whoever those people are, thank you! You made my first Cata dungeon a wonderful experience. May all your loot be epic!

Drama Mamas: The case of the nice guy and the social leech {WoW}

Nov 5th 2010 4:12PM I really do not understand why anyone would ever use real ID. Everyone says "only put RL friends and family on your real ID". Well, my RL friends and my family have my cell phone number and know where I live...they don't really need real ID to contact me. There are people that we have met in game that have my cell number. They text or call me if there is a great raid and they are looking for people. Anyone in WoW that does not have my cell number, I do not know well enough to want to give them my real ID info, also known as my WoW username! Until this real ID system no longer uses your login info and has an invisible feature, it is worthless to me. And do you really want to give that info and let them see you ALL the time to someone that you don't trust with your phone number?

WoW Rookie: Patch 4.0.1 for rookies {WoW}

Oct 15th 2010 5:52PM Please, please, please STOP stating that spirit is a "healer only stat"! It is not a healer only stat. The boomkin has talent called "Balance of Power" that, "increases your spell hit rating by an additional amount equal to 100 % of your spirit." Everyone keeps saying that spirit is healer only, but it it not and I don't want to have to fight to be able to roll on gear and link this talent in raid chat every other night to convince people of this fact.

Around Azeroth: I can't remember if we said goodbye {WoW}

Oct 13th 2010 1:12PM I will always miss my tree form. No, I was not in love with the graphic, but it was who that character is. I will miss hearing things like, "when the spores come out, collapse on the tree" in vent. I would love to see a glyph that lets us keep the tree form all the time. Personally I don't care to see my gear. I can see my gear on my other toons. I rolled this toon to be a shape shifter. Being a shape shifter is what is unique about being a druid. Like having a pet is unique to a hunter or having an imp is unique to a warlock. Every class has things that are special and just for them. I can't bubble. I can't go all shadowy purple. And now I can't stay in my tree form. For the people that love the change, I'm glad for them. No matter what Blizz does, they will never make everyone happy at the same time. I will not refuse to run this toon, being a healer is who I am no matter what the toon looks like. But I understand why people are shelving their druid healers, and that is their choice...the reason that they rolled this toon has been removed. There are people who didn't run druid healers before because they refused to run in the tree form, and now they can give this class/spec a try. I for one, will always miss my tree form. Maybe one day we will get the choice to be a tree or not. For now, I will just be another healer in human form, but in my heart, I will always be a tree.

Breakfast Topic: What won't you miss about Wrath? {WoW}

Sep 25th 2010 11:05AM I will not miss the aoe spam fest on toons that only have one aoe. The warlock for example in Northrend dungeons. Spam rein of fire X5, drink mana, spam rein of fire X5, drink mana, oh a boss with no adds, make spell choices, take down boss, oops, back to spamming rein of fire. The dk is not so bad, at least I get to put down the diseases and then spread it around before hitting my aoe. More then one button there. Can't wait for Cata and the new system that has us cc'ing again and making spell choices, not only for dps but for my healer too. And it's not that the dungeons are easy, try doing them with a party all in blues and greens and a player new to tanking or healing. Most toons are just way op for them now in shiney ICC gear. Its just the mechanics of spamming aoe's between bosses that has become a bit dull.

Ready Check: Raiding 102 {WoW}

Sep 11th 2010 11:47AM One thing to add...check or confirm loot rules before you ever leave the starting gate. Even with a group you have run with a million times, confirm that their loot rules have not changed. Do not get into a group and not pay attention to loot rules when explained or not ask if someone does not volunteer the information and then complain or bail the run when you do not like the loot rules. Have seen this so many times. And drama caused by loot may lead to people not returning to your raid or you losing a future raid spot on someone else's team.
