Blizzard working on ways to improve dungeon finder {WoW}

Jan 5th 2011 5:38PM A couple of days ago, on my 82 mage, I bumped into an 82 belf warrior 'tank' from another server (oddly enough I'd done BRC with him 1-2 days prior) in Throne of Tides.

I don't recall having issues in BRC with him, but in ToT - it was bad.

See, its scary when tank's hp at 50k-ish is barely above the 47k of my mage.

I had 2 guildies in vent, 85 druid healer and 85 mage. We got two bosses upstairs done (touch and go with a few wipes - hooray for mage CC - which 'tank' kept breaking), then kept wiping on the mind-controlled shaman.

Finally we started getting fed up and inspected with PlayerScore - and the problem became apparent.

He technically/theoretically met the avg iLvl requirements to get in, but in practice his gear was all 272 green junk and a relic meant for lvl 61 toons.

We vote kicked him for being undergeared and told him before hand to clear all of the quests in Hyjal to get the blue gear there.

Also if you are regularly getting lag of 2000ms... which he was... you might not want to be tanking (or healing).

Dec 29th 2010 1:54AM GREAT 'FIX' Blizzard - now we have frapping idiots like Rykinmthrfkr* of on Ghostlands honor leeching at the Defender's GY all Tol Barad long and spamming /raid + /1 + /trade afterwards 'educating' Horde-side on how we all get more honor if we just trade wins with the Alliance

This on a server that had a strong Horde-owns-WinterGrasp culture >.<

Blizzard, your 'FIX' is actually making things WORSE.

*reported for inappropriate name beyond his honor leeching

The problems with Tol Barad (and how to fix them) {WoW}

Dec 26th 2010 4:36AM I just had the 'pleasure' of visiting Fail Barad for the first time. The criticisms in this article are dead on. (I've been talking to most of the Horde WG veterans and majority hate the white 'failephant' that is TB).

This is coming from someone that has read and understood Sun Tzu's Art of War and Machiavelli's Prince.

I've played easily 300+ WinterGrasps on various toons and given that Ghostlands US owns it 71.0% that makes 213+ wins.

Lol Barad in comparison is a crock of horseshit.

Heck simplest modification that Blizzard could make is 2 buildings need to be controlled. Requiring the capture of all 3 with the defender's GY in the middle is utterly ridiculous.

In the mean time, servers will need to have teams ready to win just after server reset so that their side can keep the zone owned for a week, even tenacity + the balancing mechanics of WinterGrasp meant that Alliance on Ghostlands managed to capture WG about 1 out of 8.5 battles (or just under once a day).

Here all the defending side has to do is zerg between 2 nodes - it is mathematically unlikely that attackers have a chance to win, and if you figure in afker-honor leeches, and the confusion caused by noobs who haven't read up on the battle... yeah whomever thought this 'balancing' act up is an idiot.

Dec 18th 2010 1:17PM Given that we OWNED WinterGrasp 71.9% of the time out of 6270 battles (as of Dec02'10) since 4.0.3 messed up WG you pretty much HAD/HAVE to sign up 15 minutes early (or you don't get in).

Given that the same players that helped set up that dominance are likely now camping Tol Barad... I'd imagine the situation is the same (haven't been to TB yet).

By my estimate I've attended about 300+ or so of the WG battles on various toons. I loved WG, more so when it was 200 vs 150 or 120 v 120, these days its a pitiful 5v5.

Blizzard, don't listen to the numbnut QQers - bring back tenacity, first 20 players get in for free,

Dec 18th 2010 1:15PM Ghostlands USA is 1.1Horde to 1 Ally ratio.

Blizzard, don't listen to the numbnut QQers - bring back tenacity, first 20 players get in for free, thereafter let people queue at a 3:2 ratio with tenacity rules in effect.

Dec 7th 2010 1:38AM To quote a tongue-in-cheek lyric from one of Nhym's songs:

"Athene's my 'hero' - he got the world levelling record //

Cataclysm 101: What to do first in Cataclysm {WoW}

Dec 6th 2010 7:53PM @Magma : incorrect, you'll be able to train in the cities BUT (this is where you got confused) for several professions you won't be able to train up to 525, you'll get stuck become the RECIPES/PATTERNS will be locked behind 84 (trainers phased in Twilight Highlands).

Alchemy is trainable (as confirmed by WoW insider) from 450 to 525 solely on what you learn from your factions cities.

Sep 12th 2010 1:22PM Sadly the piccolo doesn't seem to work anymore, the gold farmer-hacker-spammers have upgrade their hacks.

Much sadness, it was so fun to disrupt their formations with it.
