Why is Blizzard still OK with gender inequality in World of Warcraft? {WoW}

Apr 3rd 2012 4:51PM If a man came up to me on the street and said 'you're some kinda gorgeous, aren't you' to me, I'd be looking for the men in white coats and making sure the poor sod got his medication.

Seriously though, yes, it is a little creepy in a real life context, but in a game, one panda to another, I'm not that bothered. I can't remember which ones offhand, but some of the /silly emotes are just as creepy.

Apr 3rd 2012 4:19PM I should add, I almost exclusively play dwarven lasses where class/race combo allows, perhaps this is why I've never had to deal with creepy comments/inappropriate attention... just a thought.

Apr 3rd 2012 4:16PM I play exclusively female characters and am female myself. I have NEVER had anyone act inappropriately or proposition me in game(nor give me free stuff either). If I screw up in a raid I own up and take the (usually) good natured ribbing that ensues (wiping the raid when I healed a tank after forgetfully 'baconing' Valithra Dreamwalker and accidentally starting the event... not my finest hour). I do talk on vent, but again, haven't received any weirdness from my guildies.

I also love the plate bikinis. Maybe it's because my dwarfadin looks hideously awesome wearing them, but it truly doesn't bother me one iota. As for Mr. Creepy Panderan, I find it kinda funny. I'm certainly not offended by it. I am a little annoyed by Tyrande 'Malfurion's shadow' Whisperwind and her lack of kick-assery in WoW, but mostly because it's such a departure from her earlier incarnation.

I guess what I'm trying to say is not all male WoW players are hormone crazed wierdos, some female gamers actually like the dodgy bikini armour and life's too short to worry about Mr. Creepy Panda:)

Apr 2nd 2012 6:18PM I never managed to get the healing shield off Marrowgar, the one time it dropped the raid leader mistakenly gave it to the ret paladin (not realising he was ret). I wouldn't have minded losing it to another healer, but to lose it to a Ret pally with no holy offspec was just typical.

Apr 2nd 2012 6:16PM Also, the Polar Bear mount... still no mount on my main despite trying for it since Wrath launched.

Apr 2nd 2012 6:15PM Saltstone Breastplate (and the one of the same model that drops from Ring of Law), I've come to the realisation that the game is so horrified that I'm planning on mogging my dwarfadin's gear to the saltstone set, it's wilfully withholding the chestpiece.

I've tried farming 3 different chestpieces (all the same model) and am still coming up empty.

WoW Moviewatch: Caution Jig! {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 6:11PM I thoroughly enjoyed this:)

Of monks, mains, and the ability to change {WoW}

Apr 2nd 2012 4:43PM I've changed a fair few times. I started as a mage, I levelled as mostly melee *facepalm* and after getting to level cap (60) managed to level a few levels into Burning Crusade before getting horribly bored. I switched to Shaman since I could now have an Alliance Shaman. I levelled to 70 and, again, got bored fairly quickly. I then rolled a druid and managed to get all the way to 80 (WotLK was out by then) and raided Naxx as balance before, again, getting bored. Finally I levelled a Paladin. After never getting past level 10 on a Paladin I slogged my way to 80, hating every minute of it. I reached level cap and switched to Holy and have been a happy Holydin ever since.

I did also reroll my mage as a dwarf and by actually using spells I managed to get her to 85 and thoroughly enjoyed myself. My Paladin is my main for the forseeable future, I've invested too much time and effort in her to switch now, but a monk alt is definitely in my future:)
