Mar 29th 2012 12:12PM Fie, Anne, an thou art soothly a literature fan, wherefore art thou misusing "wherefore"?
Mar 12th 2012 10:23AM Cephas, I suspect a few people who are familiar enough with Diku and EQ's derivation are 100% sure that what you mentioned is the exact origin. Also, there's no reason for the clunkily acronymed phrase to exist, except for entertainment value, which is probably the reason for most backronyms.
Feb 26th 2012 11:50AM Chestguard of Exile dropped in Skettis for me a few years ago. It was almost better if I hadn't found it since it took so long to auction off that the listing fees were eating away the potential profit above just vendoring the thing.
Jan 24th 2012 12:48PM Maybe the "rep for deposit" function should be turn-in quests given by the guild bank. What is deposited disappears, but perhaps the turn-ins work towards eventual guild-wide buffs when in raid groups or something like that. It'd be similar to AV turn-ins. This could address the problem of too much unused low-level stuff accumulating in the guild bank, too. And the guild rep gain could be made inversely proportional to the size of the guild since rep gain by members of tiny guilds may be much slower.

Regarding animals and their names, if you use genus names (such as Xenoglaux and Xenops), every letter has lots of examples.
Jun 28th 2011 10:13PM No list of bugs can be complete without mention of the display of Nuts in the Companions tab. The size of Nuts has been greatly exaggerated. Some people might be disappointed at the actual size of their Nuts, but I'm just happy to have Nuts at all.
Jun 17th 2011 11:35AM Non-combat pets clearly time-travel. That other player's Jubling sitting next to yours? It's the same one as yours! It's just at a different point in its own timeline. When you dismiss yours, it'll be free to go to another player that has summoned or that will have summoned it, whether that occurs in your past or your future. See, no storage issues. This also explains why everyone's pets look the same. Did you really think the markings would be identical for everyone's?
Apr 29th 2011 12:40PM Killing isn't illegal, cutaia. I killed a gnome in RL yesterday. Or maybe it was an ant. I get them confused. It was definitely legal either way, though.
Apr 29th 2011 12:04PM "Illegal drug" is a strange phrase. Many controlled substances are legal if you have the right enforcement agency license, medical prescription, research authorization, or the like. And that gray area doesn't even consider different ideas about drugs in different jurisdictions.
Blizzard may be more concerned about names describing activities widely agreed upon as being illegal rather than names with simple mentions of particular substances. Would you report a player named the same as the (pronounceable) chemical formula for an "illegal drug"? How about a local slang term, innocent in all other contexts?
Apr 17th 2011 5:09PM In game: Bad Clams
In RL: A scorpion with overly bitter chitin
And Dart, your dad sounds mean...
