Apr 17th 2011 6:29PM Politics are interesting in real life.
I'm impressed at how far they've taken it in wow.
My care for Garrosh is little, for the good things he's done are far outweighed by his poor decisions, perhaps, if you will pardon me saying, a bit like Hitler.
Sylvanas is like a double agent of her own people.
Vol'Jin and Baine seem to be the underdogs here. Both do what is Morally right. Perhaps we'll see a council consisting of these two in the future?
Lor'Thermar....hasn't done much, has he? He got a new voice, which reminds me of an old man with syphilis, but he's not actually done anything. Time to boot him, or in the very least life-grip him.
And Trade Prince Gallywix, got his ass saved by Thrall. Thrall, in all your moral judgement, have made my screen saver a picture of me stuck up a his, mountain carved, nose.
I have little care for the alliance, but that's only because I've not explored that faction.
The only alliance leader I like is Velen.
"Vol'Vel Baine" the newest, crunchiest, wisest jamacian run shot in a crystal glass.

I don't think you understand how this works.
The person who writes the columns has to research/play the game/read patch notes/ number-crunch and read this site. It comes around to 60 hours a week AT LEAST.
It is a Job.
It's also a responsibility.
So, instead of asking for more.
Appreciate the column you have just read. All that time and effort to help YOU.
You greedy bastard. =)
Feb 19th 2011 8:49PM Arcane.
It's what I play on my Mage.
I don't care about the Damage Meters.
But Arcane brings some very useful tools to the raid.
A few tricks I use, that my raid loves;
Improved Blink = Aggro an ill-placed mob, Interupt if it's a spell caster, and run to the tank. Obviously Vent helps in this, as you don't want everyone running to the tank "Taunting" one mob over there.
Prismatic Cloak = This REALLY helps, at-least in my opinion. The 6% damage reduction really helps, as my main is a disc priest. As I don't care about the meters, I can pull out damage while surviving that bit more than the DPS with 100-200 more dps.
Nether Vortex = On trash, this is Amazing. Sure arcane has poor mobility. Because we feel angry about this, we impair the speed of that annoying trash. Help the kiting or kite yourself!
I haven't even tried the Apparant-Orgasm that Fire and frost is yet.
Then again, I've never gone shadow as my priest...just disc.
I should really try more specs.
What with all the effort Blizzard has put into them.
Enough with the QQ.
Be pleased there is no damn "Wand Specialization!"
It's fair enough to be concerned with your spec, but think what blizzard designers have now.
They've made the game the best it's ever been, equalized the specs/classes inline with each other at raid level.
Sure, there are some things that need ironing out. Like RET's gear dependance.
But those little "OMG BBQ NERF" are really for your benefit.
Feb 19th 2011 3:27AM Thank god for the priest change.
It was rather Ironic that holy priests got more synergy with PW:S than disc does.
On another note:
...does Blizzard actually test? Some of these changes are bug fixes, granted.
But most of them are to do with im-balancing.
I mean, do they test with numbers? Like "Mr.Robot" style 'this spell is good, use it'.
Or do they test with actual gameplay? I know there's the PTR, but how many people can raid/dungeon/group in those?
If the game is being balanced around raids being balanced for every classes, wouldn't it be supportive of blizzard to test each class/specs viability in raid...by actually doing a raid test run?
Surely the healers at blizzard can't be as crap as me.
Feb 16th 2011 3:12AM The reason my Mage alt is still arcane?
The same reason I was disc pre-patch.
It wasn't popular.
Also, I love healing in WoW now!
"Shit, I pulled. Heal me!"
"Meh, i'll get round to it"
"BUT WHAT ABOUT MY HEALTH!"
"...pop a cool-down, CC or something. Make the enemy sparkle, I don't care. Your mistake, no heals if you don't learn."
Jan 26th 2011 3:30PM Fox, I have only two words to describe this:
Now, will people realize that I can MC the really annoying mob in the pack? In PuGs I doubt it, but in my guild run I make sure to sing a song about it in vent.
"Mind Control, Mind Control."
"Ghoti, Shut up."
"Says the person who was singing Amy Whinehouse...."
Dec 26th 2010 1:55AM Healing isn't hard, it's actually quite fun in practice.
You CAN let people take some damage.
You HAVE time to heal people back up.
You can SAVE mana for large damage phases.
You can also PUNISH those who expect to be healed through key-DON'T STAND IN THAT- mechanics. Even if you tried to heal them, they'll die, so why waste mana?
So, remember - CAN/HAVE/SAVE/PUNISH - and if your a holy priest like me, dance around the Lightwell.
Dec 16th 2010 5:10PM As a priest healer, a certain pattern has followed.
The less healing I do, the more mana I have.
The more mana I have, the more I can heal mistakes.
The more mistakes I heal, the more the "Mistakers" think they can get away with it.
Next time they think they'll stand outside the Triangle during the Asaad encounter, I shall let it die, and smite that Djinn, get my Evangelism stacks and relish the 5000 mana I got back in the 20 seconds the "Mistakie" spent being a total knob.
Lesson is, let people unfamiliar experiance the fight mechanics.
Dec 11th 2010 6:57PM Considering I live in the UK, here are my healer tips:
1) Ask for mana if you want/need it.
2) If you get blamed for the wipe, take it as the others mearly being having a very bad period. If it happens again, around the same place and/or against the same mobs, then see what's happeneing.
3) This relates to Tip No.2, people who stand in the fire and subsequently stand in it until thier health is depleted to half of thier total should be left to die in the flames - or in the case of Wrath, pools of green ooze. As they're killing themselves and depeteing your mana if you have to heal them ( and subsequently giving you less mana to heal those who actually need healing to do damadge/tank/heal) they're pulling the group down.
I say half health, because there are things such as lag ( or in my case graphics that make patched of fire look like wavy pieces of Sponge Cake).
4) HAVE FUN! You are saving people from thier own demise. That sense of god-like power is what keeps me playing a omm-ish holy priest (Not to metion the wings animation). And some people realise it, and thank you. In Cata dungeons, healers need to be ontop of thier game and take advantage of the mechanics of the boss fights.
- Ghoti, level 83 Holy/Disc priest. Needs coffee.
Nov 14th 2010 12:42PM A question:
What dungeons are currently giving badges? Is it the whole "Daily" system of wrath until max level, where you can grind as many as you want?
And how much does one get per boss?
If 4000 is only for 1 item and a half, them I'm thinking it'll be around 100+ per boss.
