Oct 30th 2010 7:10AM I have tried 3 times now to learn to use Auctioneer. For most of my gold making career I used AuctionLite and QA2/3. When 4.0 hit I used Auctionator briefly because it was up and running first, and even tried Auctioneer again but it still overwhelmed me and I missed the ease and simplicity of AuctionLite. I am not back to AuctionLite and QA3 but it still bothers me that after 3 goes I haven't been able to adjust to Auctioneer. I've just hit 550k gold which I'm extremely excited about, but I keep thinking how much more could I be doing if I mastered Auctioneer? I just keep telling myself that maybe I'm not missing out on too much because I've effectively memorized the prices and trends in the markets I play in so a lot of the extra tools like appraiser or arbitrage wouldn't increase my profits all that much. Don't get me wrong, I feel like as a pretty serious auction PvPer I'm crazy not to be using Auctioneer, I just can't seem to adjust to it >
Oct 17th 2010 3:07AM I got QA poster to work by going into the LUA and TOC files and changing all the mentions of "QuickAuctions" to "AuctionProfitMaster" (the new name of the addon from the person that took over QA3). You still have to hit 'Post Auction' each time, but it will cycle through and continue to pop up the 'Post Auction' button after the first cycle just like before.
Oct 6th 2010 1:32AM You might actually be able to get into the glyph market without being a scribe. On my server there are ppl that will put up their glyphs at 1g even if next highest is 35g. Ink of the sea is going for 2g on my server and recently I've been going around and buying up any glyph that is under 2g. When 4.0 hits sure glyphs will be permanently learned, but for those first few weeks the demand of glyphs will absolutely skyrocket. Everyone will be buying every single glyph for each of their classes. And I mean every glyph because who wants to see that greyed out glyph slot :P
I actually have a 450 of every single profession and plan on having at least 20 of each glyph for 4.0 (should probably make more but 20 of each is already like a few thousand glyphs) and even though I have every recipe, I am still buying glyphs off the AH if they are under 2g. It saves me time to craft them, and actually is cheaper than buying ink or milling herbs (if you count time spent), If your server is anything like mine, all you need to do is buy up glyphs that cost less than ink of the sea and get ready to re-sell when 4.0 hits.
Also in terms of the OP's post, I am still making good money on craftables. I've had some nervous moments where I'm not sure if I should keep buying saronite to make more ICC epics, but then they sell and I just keep going. I'm making at 700-1k profit per boot sale, and anywhere from 1-3k profit per pants sale. Just selling those items and gems for the past few months I went from 70k to 300k. I know some people think spending 4k on boots right before cata is a waste, but there are just as many people that have the gold and want to gear up their alts for the last 2 months of the expansion. I understand both sides and personally I'm in the "don't spend any money on lvl 80 gear" camp, but trust me, those boots and pants still sell :)
Also one last tip, in 4.0 people that are wearing lower armor classes are going to soon realize they are being penalized for it. I estimate the prices of plate, mail, and leather BoEs to rise a bit as all these downgrading armor classes will want to replace the gear to get the bonus.
Sep 28th 2010 8:13PM Ya thats just weird. I have never even had one of my wow friends die, or pretend to die and the fact that the poster had 3 is pretty shocking. I hesitate to even say that perhaps he is spending time with some extremely immature people to have this happen so often. I'm not even sure what to make of it! I have never heard of faking wow deaths before now :/
Sep 20th 2010 6:03PM One thing I would recommend to get around those annoying ppl that list 20 pages of 1 item is download auctioneer or my favorite, Auctionlite. When you search in the Auctionlite tab every result is located on one long page that you can scroll down, and from lowest bid, or lowest buyout first. It is then quite easy to scroll past all those annoying auctions of 1 item, or if they have the cheapest buyout, you just need to shift click to highlight all 200 of them and buyout with one click (might be two clicks because you need to confirm) but it is so much faster than buying individual auctions when they are listed like that, and I absolutely love it. I mainly use QA3 to sell my items, and the default AH has added a faster way to sell stacks so the other aspects of auctionlite aren't as needed anymore, but I still have it installed for the buying screen, trust me you will love it.
Sep 19th 2010 6:25PM Why is everyone giving him crap? He's not asking for government funding to make this movie/film deep ocean shots. He's using his own money to try and create something that millions of people will enjoy.. stop being so critical.
Sep 19th 2010 6:13PM What a sad woman. I say the gov't agrees to pay her welfare checks as long as she agrees to get sterilized.
