Mar 20th 2011 10:38AM I have never, ever needed to wait 45 minutes for a tank when I DPS. I have never even needed to wait 4 minutes for a tank.
Dungeons in progress are at the very front of the queue.
But yeah, I'll 2nd the resentment (not quite the word I want, but w/e) at having to take over tanking in 33% or even 50% of the runs I try to DPS. DPSing is my vacation.
Mar 17th 2011 9:38PM Not a guild leader, but this is my experience also. It's actually weird-- /guildrecruitment has quieted down so much over the last week or so that I've had to check if I was still in the channel. And I've only seen one completely new guild trying to recruit since January.
My impression is that guild levels added a way to quickly, objectively and in advance compare non-progression guilds that simply didn't exist before. I mean, /ginfo is useless because the number of toons in a guild tells you nothing.
Basically, Blizzard shoved the smaller, casual, and/or semi-casual guilds headfirst into the race with the big guilds and the hyper-focused guilds. It's like comparing 2dBoy (World of Goo) to Blizzard using their stock prices.
Whatever else, this particular topic has prompted me to do a couple of things:
1. Discover that I would have to clone the main toon of the next biggest guild XP contributor to even approach what I'm putting in. And that's after adding all the associated the alts to the main toon.
2. Re-install the CensusPlus addon, because I want to know just how small the pool of unguilded non-bank characters is on my realm. I remember one of the facets you can look at is guild, with "None" being an option. Other guilds may want to take note of this to focus their recruiting on level-appropriate zones.
For me, at least, guild leveling in a small guild has turned WoW into a continuation of real life instead of a break from it. I'm now leaving my job to go to my other job.

Mar 10th 2011 6:24PM This version of parry never made it to live, as was mentioned earlier in the thread. The only difference between dodge and parry value now is class-specific. Bears can't parry at all, and while warriors have an ability that procs on a parry.
I'll also chuck this out regarding Expertise and Hit: while they may not be important in a raid, nothing sucks more in a 5-man than trying to start a pull with a ranged silence on the caster in a mixed pack... and having it miss. 5-man heroics are not raids.
Hopefully some of those s***ty day moments will be mitigated by 4.1.

Feb 24th 2011 6:26PM More likely that these are faction-parallel mounts tied into the new Hyjal, probably with a new faction. Think of the spectral horse/wolf with Baradin's Wardens/whoever in Tol Barad.
Feb 20th 2011 8:44PM Think of the hybrid tax as Blizzard's new year's resolution. They make the same one year after year, yet always have the same big bear butt.
Feb 16th 2011 6:08PM Dear Dr. M(r)(s) The Queue,
Has Blizzard ever outright stated what size of guild they were thinking of when they designed the guild levelling system? If not, has anyone ever done the math to determine how many players we need in the 80-85 level range to get reasonably close to the daily XP cap without killing ourselves?
Napkin math tells me you'd need 400-500 individual daily quests from L85 toons every single day to hit the cap.
Feb 15th 2011 10:34PM Worth noting that the holiday dailies reward XP like they were quests at your level. This is something like 17,500 for the level-capped folks. So until this is over, a L85 toon can rake in around 100k guild XP by chucking candy at people, giving leaders bracelets and making a sidetrip to Uldum.
If your faction on your server is decent at Tol Barad, there are theoretically *over* 25 dailies that will reward 17,500 XP each because of the holiday:
Tol Barad - 6 to 18
Profession dailies - 2 to 3 (dunno about JC)
Holidailies - 6
Why yes, I am in a small guild, why do you ask?
