Blizzard vs. Pessimism: Blizzard wins 4:2 {WoW}

Jan 17th 2007 10:26AM BURNING BLADE server:

Installed and got everything up and running by 7pm...

Ran to the dark portal, jumped in and was DC'd. Outlands were down I'm told.

Hop on my other 60 char and start running around burning steps and no mobs load up. All players did and had some nice pvp action until another DC.

Created a Draino-Shaman entered the starting area and saw, no kidding, nearly 200 Shamans dueling... A site to see. After a few minutes gawking and fighting realized that their were no mobs, no npcs and within a few minutes was DC'd.

Hop on my level 40 toon and immediately hit with server going down in 5 minutes, dc'd after 1 minute.

Hop on another server in which I have toons and create a BE mage and then a BE hunter. LOVE their racials. Got both up to around 10 before I went to bed, nice and tired at 1:30... oh and no dc's on that server with everything running smoothly.

Over a hundred thousand accounts closed {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2006 2:17PM @8 "If Chuck Norris were a gold farmer all the mobs would mail him their gold so they wouldn't have to face him!"

Sorry couldn't help myself.

As for 105,000 accounts being banned, they only removed --on the average-- less than 115 gold per banning. Doesn't seem like a lot to me.

I can't wait until TBC when the average player should have 4-5k gold banked up waiting for their epic flying mount. We'll be seeing 400 million gold or more being banned each month :) Much better numbers.

Also, how many of the 105,000 are actually gold farmers? I know many who were banned just for spamming chat channels with offensive language -- 3 warnings and temporary bans were not good enough for them, they had to push it that one last time.

The Burning Crusade -- hardware upgrade time? {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2006 9:26AM Wow nice machines above...

I play on a 1.2 Ghz laptop with a 32 mb video card. I have upgraded it to 1 GB ram though...

All settings at low, and I do use Vent. Run's decently (15-20 FPS)...

Dec 22nd 2006 9:08AM @6 I think it is the Auctionner that is providing it for you. I too have it now, but lost it when the 2.0 hit the streets. It magically reappeared when I installed Auctioneer (first mod I could find at the time).

Breakfast Club: The art of ganking {WoW}

Dec 21st 2006 11:38AM A couple of nights ago, I being a 57 Hunter, was working on completing the 'Are we there, Yeti?' quest when while I was fighting a mob I see giant red letters appear right behind me (thank god for those HUGE names that sometime appears)...

I spun my camera around while continueing the fight and see a 60 Shaman start a windup of a spell... I hurried up and set my pet on him, intimidated, Beastial Wrath and feigned death before the spell got off...

I managed to kill him and then finished of the Yeti I was fighting as well. Sat down and received a PM from another alliance who asked if the Shaman was still around. Come to find out this Shaman was corpse camping the other alliance guy for nearly an hour.

We teamed up and killed the Shaman three more times before he finially rezzed at the Graveyard...

I used to be the type of player who would /wave to a horde and let them go on their way but have experienced way to many times where they 'go away' and sneak back to nail you while you are fighting a mob or sitting down to drink/eat.

Now if they are Green or higher (Honor for the win) I attack them on site. If not, depends on whether I'm in a hurry. I now have no problem charging into a group of four or more horde as long as I get at least one kill before they get me.

Dec 21st 2006 11:25AM I want my Bagnon back!!!

I want my Banknon back!!

I've tried the vBagnon but it is a cut-rate copy of the original and doesn't support single bank bags either.

I've settled with OneBag, but still not happy. I can't view my other toons bags or banks and I can't seem to get the bag colors to stay...

I guess I could try and fix the original, but I am too lazy... Too much like work for me ;)

Dec 21st 2006 11:20AM There are quite a bit of rewards for low level characters... Not as much as for the 60 but at least something.

Stop by AB and WSG camps to see what you can purchase as well...
