Oct 4th 2010 2:25PM @firstlordmoth : It is entirely the point of my math and the discussion. I am suggesting that instead of just accepting that MM is the new BM, that someone prove that to me first. I respect Frost, he's a smart guy, but this is all anecdotal still, and he's offering his take on the current state of talents and such. It seems to me however, to be overlooking the strength of gear levels and pet scaling, as well as possibly overlooking some things that only BM gets with exotic pets. Who's tried extreme soloing with a Spirit Beast with their self heal and Lick Your Wounds? What about the exotic ability that adds 11k HP to you and your pet? (These may well be totally non-viable, I'm just asking the question)
I know full well what 2 pieces of tier 5 gear do. I'm suggesting, perhaps in vain, that it may not be all that much in comparison to the 2 pieces of MUCH higher level gear that you'd be ditching.
Oct 4th 2010 12:00PM Blue iLvl 333 shoulders/gloves : 300 + 260 stamina = 5600 hp * 78% = 4368 HP * 40% = 1747/tick from mend pet
Rift Stalker Shoulders/Gloves : 47 + 44STA = 910 HP * 78% = 709 HP * 40% = 283/tick from mend pet
Difference = 1464/tick from mend pet.
437 - 71 = 366/tick from spirit bond.
Total from two sources = 1831/tick difference. This is not taking into account armor scaling for effective health or any other cataclysm-only factors. Stats and pet scaling in cata change everything and asking to see proof isn't illogical.
I don't have the beta. Go put your t5 on and solo something and heal your pet and then do the same with it off and show me the parse of your healing output, and make sure you have at least blue level 85 gear to compare with as I did above. Otherwise, do the theorycrafting and beat my 4th grade maths and show me how much dps you need to do to beat nearly 2k per tick of healing.
And until you do that, stop downranking a post that *gasp* challenges Frostheim's lack of proof.
Oct 4th 2010 9:47AM You sure about those maths Frosty?
You're basing your whole argument here on an extremely dated set of gear that provides 15% extra healing based on hunter damage. As you mentioned, the goal is healing, and the healing as you mentioned is all based on percentages of pet health, and pet health is all based on scaling with the hunter's gear, therefore the better the gear, the more health the pet has ... so how can this BC level gear compete with tier 11 gear for overall pet health and therefore % heal? Your total damage will surely also drop wearing these Karazhan rags....
Just my thoughts.
P.S. I think you are hoping that MM will be the premier spec, methinks you have a slight prejudice :)
