Ready Check: What to do when there's no raiding left {WoW}

Oct 14th 2011 9:27PM Our raid group decided to go with the "Spicing things up" route after we killed H Rag. We just decided we're going to do every encounter in Firelands the most wrong way we possibly can. Our current favorites are doing nothing but scorpion phases on H Majordomo, not sending anyone upstairs on H Beth, doing H Shannox with 1 tank. We even went so far as to make it a goal to 1-tank 1-heal every boss in Firelands before t13 is done with. Its made for an interesting challenge so far.

Lichborne: A look at the death knight tier 13 set bonuses {WoW}

Sep 27th 2011 3:11PM I'm not sure where you're getting a 3-4k bubble from. As it stands right now on my prot pally on most heroic mode fights, thanks to vengeance and inquisition, judgement hits for ~20k and crits for ~40k, meaning a 6-12k bubble or roughly 8k on average adjusted for crit chance. I for one would LOVE an 8k bubble every 8 seconds, thats averaging out to 1k damage reduced every second, which basically halves the difference in tank damage between heroic ragnaros and normal ragnaros.

Addon Spotlight: Raiding essentials for DPS {WoW}

Sep 15th 2011 2:38PM Contrary to what many seem to believe, Skada is actually MORE accurate than recount in most situtations. Skada takes into account downtime when computing dps/hps, whereas recount does not. In a mathematical sense, Recount is showing you (Damage Done)/(Active Time) for "DPS" whereas Skada shows you (Damage Done)/(Fight Duration).

The Queue: It's a moose, all right? {WoW}

Mar 6th 2011 2:36PM Honestly, it feels like many encounters on 10 man (especially heroic modes) just weren't made to be done on 10 man. A lot of the heroic encounters, it feels like you just don't have enough people for the mechanics of the fight. We, for example, 3 tanked Heroic Halfus because with our gear at the time, it simply wasn't possible to heal a tank through the stacking debuff and 1-2 drakes which was the only option we had if we used 2 tanks.

Patch 4.0.6 PTR: Shaman patch notes {WoW}

Jan 11th 2011 5:27PM I would just like to ask: have you ever tried the 7/2/32 spec that Paragon's raid-healing shamans are using? I recently switched to it an I'm never going back. It's a bit awkward to play at first because you need to spam lightning bolt whenever you're not casting a heal, but last night on Atramedes I had near 100% Healing Rain uptime (during the ground phase that is, its useless when he's in the air), never ran out of mana, and never ONCE hit Healing Wave. Not a single person died in our successful kill and every single person was topped off for the majority of the fight.

Raid Rx: The limits of cognitive bandwidth for healers {WoW}

Oct 8th 2010 3:00PM The only time I've ever healed Heroic Sindragosa, we 2 healed it with me, a shaman, and a very skilled paladin. This happened to me on more than a few attempts. Its just a slow process of moving away from people who are going to explode and people who are getting ice blocked until, before you realize it, you have drifted out of range of the tank just before she hits him/her with a frost breath.
