Jul 20th 2007 7:26PM Excellent synopsis. I will add one thing. As a hunter, sometimes I intentionally will grab aggro and start kiting something if things are hairy. Melee mobs that move slow and are snare-able are ones I can hold for quite some time. This is mostly true of heroics where negating 100% of 1 mob's damage can help immensely.
If its inadvertent and the mob isn't going to die before he reaches me, I'm Wing Clip jousting it right back to the tank.
Jul 1st 2007 6:50PM Jindo would have enough mana to drop at least 4-5 healing totems. These would never die, since totems are immune to AE damage. Plus, Moam would take quite awhile to fill his mana bar with the strength of his mana drain. Moam is immune to poison, so the shades would pile and pile and pile up.
This is Jindo, no contest.
Jun 19th 2007 11:47AM Hunter here
Definately Might > Wisdom > Kings
Jun 5th 2007 2:07PM Pre TBC, you could level to 14 by just revealing areas. This was discovered by GM's finding lots of lvl 14s that had the same amount of exp by teleport hacking across the world
The more you know -~*
May 18th 2007 9:10AM Being good at PvP really comes from lots of time and BG work. AV is such a big mess that I don't think its a good example of how to learn to utilize your class efficiently.
As said before, dueling is good. However, it misrepresents what pvp is and I don't think you need to do it much. If anything, just duel to learn how your abilities work as well as how your opponents react. World PvP is a much better gauge of skill.
And lastly, know the other classes inside and out. Know which classes can dispel your stuff. Know how they fight your class. Know their talents, and this all comes with time. Don't ever be afraid to ask questions of a horde warrior when an ally one destroys you. He'll tell you how you could have won or perhaps done better.
Feb 25th 2007 6:57PM Mages are just amazing in PvE and PvP. They are definately the class to be. I've done a good amount of instancing, pvp (BG and arenas)...mages rock in all accounts.
Hunters (myself) are pretty good as well, but our PvP dominance is easily replaced by mages. Our damage has not caught up to the stamina buff of everyone and deadzone becomes much more of a problem. Still strong class don't get me wrong, but much more vulnerable.
Feb 9th 2007 10:52AM To all above:
There will be both an Inventory and Bank check. Blue post from awhile back if you want to dig for it, from Kalgan I believe.
Feb 8th 2007 12:11PM I call BS on this.
First of all, most of those areas are pretty populated. Its hard to grind for 1 straight hour non stop.
Second, farming earth elementals suck. According to my drop rate calculator (mobinfo2) the drop rate for Earths is around 20-30%. The rest are around 50% for the highest level mobs.
Third, the math doesnt add up. Take the first example with primal fires: 25g per, .5 motes per mob. To get 1000g in 2 hours you would have to get 40 Primal Fire, which is 800 Fire elementals in 2 hours. Thats 800 Fire elementals in 7200 seconds, or 1 Fire elemental every 9 seconds.
These Fire elementals have about 9000 health and have a fire shield. The Air Elementals have a nature shield and chain lightning. Waters are easier, but they have a water bolt and you have to swim through the water / remount to find others. So there is a fair amount of downtime as well.
I can get about 6 Primal Airs in an hour, Hunter in all 68+ blues. Thats going balls out and is hardly fun at all. Duoing with a rogue friend, we got 12 Primal Airs in 1.5 hours. However, thats not by yourself.
Heres a more accurate description:
Farm Primal Airs for 2 hours: get 12 Primal Air, sell to the AH for 240g. Not bad money, but not 1000g.
Oh and for your efforts you also get elemental shards and BoE greens. Add 20g.
Total: 260g for 2 hours work
Feb 6th 2007 11:04AM Shattered Halls:
We pulled 6 elites with a Legionaire, who always has to be killed first. As the Legionaire dies, the pat with 2 non elite dogs and 1 elite Houndmaster pulls. We kill down to 3 elites.
Proximity aggros 5 more elites, one of which has a nasty mortal strike.
We survive with no casualties, out of a 14 pull with only 2 non elites.
