Oct 25th 2010 1:31PM I raid, that's what I do. And I know I am a competative raider. I am a Restoration Druid and I know I am ALWAYS watching Skada. I plan on walking out of every single combat period as the top of the charts and if I'm not I'm internally freaking out, asking myself what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to better myself. I am especially competative with other druids. If there's another druid in a raid that's better than me on more than 2 fights I'm WoW-Heroesing and Inspecting their talents and glyphs to find out what their doing. I think it helps and harms me. It helps because I'm always putting out 100%. It harms me because I have no restoration druid friends that I talk to in game who I raid with because I don't want to be friends with them, I want to be better than them. I'm never mean to anyone in raids if their dps sucks or if I'm doing 75% of all healing in a 3 healing raid. I keep quiet because my GM calls these types of things out without me even saying anything and and because I concentrate on my own thing. I want to be better than others but I don't vocalize it personally.
Oct 25th 2010 1:24PM I think GC answered all the questions here as fairly as he could. You have to have downfalls to all classes or else there's no point in playing them because you'll be OP against everyone else and that ruins it. I somewhat agree with the first guy asking about Cheetah. Death Knights have Unholy Presence that ups their movement spead by some odd percent and that has no downside to it. And Palli's can put in points with Pursuit of Justice which increases running speed to 30% with no drawbacks either. And Druid's can put points into Feral Swiftness which increases cat speed by 30% with no drawback. So, I kind of understand why he would ask that but I know Blizz will never let us not have stuns affiliated with Cheetah or Pack, just the way it is. Also, you have to think about the way that Hunters work when asking about melee vs ranged positioning. If Blizzard allowed Hunters to use their ranged weapons when in melee range then they'd have to take away melee weapons because you wouldn't end up being able to use them so say goodbye to dps. And we are lucky to be able to move and dps at the same time no matter whether we're close or far away. Be thankful for what we have and don't always concentrate on what other classes have that we don't, you'll end up asking GC why we don't have Bubbles before it's all said and done.
Oct 25th 2010 12:55PM I usually don't comment on articles that don't center around a class I play regularly but today I'll make an exception...
Yes, because GhostCrawler definitely does NOT make enough money already and we should donate MORE money right NOW to Blizzard to buy him another nice thing :).
Oct 20th 2010 2:46PM @Guy
Blizz stated that these changes they made in 4.0.1 were made for level 85 characters, not 1-84 so you're going to be awesome til you hit 80 and it will balance out then. Sorry, they're favoriting level 85 toons in Cataclysm.
Oct 20th 2010 2:42PM Yes the petition times are ridiculous right now. Last Wednesday at about 1am EST there was a complete crash of the Nothrend Server. Any toon that was in Dalaran, an instance set in Nothrend and any part of the outside continent was unable to log in and got an error message that said World Server down. I sent in a ticket on a newly made level one and the situation was resolved. I got a whisper from a GM on Monday asking about my petition on disconnections. This GM was completely unintelligent, could not capitalize I's and misspelled several common words. He gave me the impression he was a 17 year old kid who's Dad left the keyboard for to long.
The part that irked me the most was, he told me the reason why my toon crashed and no one on the game could log into Northrend because my UI was making me disconnect... I wanted to smack him honestly. I told him straight up what the cause was and that it was a little bit sad that I had more information on the in-game situation then he did. Blizzard... come on... you can do better than that.
Oct 20th 2010 2:35PM I don't think so. Blizz is trying to make low-leveling easier. And if a new player comes in and gets hit for half their health in one shot because they're learning the ropes they may not be willing to go any further in the game. Blizz already stated that they are working towards more end game content in this expansion so other than the new quest lines and starting areas they aren't changing the low level mobs very much.
Oct 20th 2010 2:32PM You'll be going up to 525 (I think) in Jewelcrafting once Cataclysm goes life. And the gems you have now will go obsolete just like they have in every other expansion. When you max out you'll get recepies that have just a few more points on it. Solid Sky Sapphire has like 22 or 24 points of stamina while Solid Majestic Zircon has 30 and those are both Wrath of the Lich King Cuts. They'll give you the cheap made cuts for gemming while leveling then your epic cuts for 85. If the cuts at 80 are the same as the cuts at 85 there'd be no point in spending the time to level it.
Oct 20th 2010 2:24PM You get the quest to kill Hogger at like lvl 10 so idk why you skipped him?
Oct 20th 2010 2:22PM Thats how I read it, but I don't have epic flying and I checked the Oculus Mount and Culling Mount in my bank after the patch and it requires 300 riding. >.
Oct 20th 2010 2:19PM You don't get to see the Shattering. Patch 4.0.3 is the terrain changes. You can't go sit in the Barrens and at 5:00 CST on Thursday Deathwing will come through the ground. Once you download 4.0.3 the terrain will be like that and the cultist/elementals will be attacking the cities. If you have an 80, I would personally suggest (because this is what I'm going to do) to park yourself outside of Stormwind harbor so when you log in youre seeing an all out way between Varian and the people of Stormwind against hordes of elementals. :D
