Dec 7th 2010 9:41AM started thinking about quitting WoW
Dec 1st 2010 9:50AM I consider myself a WoW geek, but for me people with rare mounts, titles etc., are not geeks, they are grinders. A geek may or may not be a grinder. I am not. Instead of going to the same dungeons to farm rep/rare drops (usually having 0 RP value anyway), I prefer rerolling new chars and mastering new class/specs. This is my kind of geekness.
Nov 9th 2010 9:30AM I tried tanking with Warrior, Druid and Paladin classes.
Bears used to be Warriors EZ, but now they feel to me like poor man's warriors, somewhat similar to them, but with a smaller toolset. So it could be a cultural shock for bear tanks.
Paladins were quite boring (IMHO) with their Rotation-96 (I shelved my protadin soon after hitting level 80 because of that), but now it is hardly better with Rotation-93 on a single target. You can macro it on one key, ignoring the Grand Crusade procs, that is. Yes, they might need more spice, more procs and a less rigid rotation.
Warriors, I think, emerged from 401 in splendour. All good things about them were preserved, while they had many improvements. I really like those changes.
Oct 15th 2010 9:59AM I agree with the warmage idea. Glory to Kirin Tor!
Some more ideas about it:
wearing cloth only, wielding staves, 1h and 2h maces, 1h and 2h swords, daggers. Looks like they might use dual wielding after all, unless Blizzard adds melee/tanking offhand items.
Or! That would be an ability of warmages - to create temporal off-hand items, say, magical orbs with specific stats on them that would depend on the character's level.
Three specs, say: Earth (tank), Water (melee dps), Fire (ranged dps)
Using one of three Shells (like DK presences): Earth Shell (huge boost for armour and threat), Water Shell (boost for armour and melee abilities), Fire Shell (boost for ranged abilities)
Warmage tanking would rely on parry (on level with warriors and paladins) and big dodge (to offset lack of shields, similar to bears'). Or they might have both parry and dodge increased.
Oct 14th 2010 11:40AM Naaru bless you.
I think this is just a learning issue: loldps should learn that tanks now need some time to build up threat. Especially, palatanks who need to get some HoPo too.
Come on, guys! This is called "paradigm shift". Or as someone said: ...but in Soviet Cata mobs AoE you! ^_^
Oct 14th 2010 11:00AM I think, Blizzard does not care what people think about their changes (unless there is *suddenly too much* QQ), they care whether the changes work as intended or not.
So if Blizzard wanted to nerf AoE tanking and incentivise (forgive my English here) CC, then QQ from AoE-missing tanks only proves that they have done it right ^_^.
I am very glad that they did it, because tBC heroics are more fun than "heroics" of WotLK. But now the fun seems to be crawling back.
Oct 12th 2010 9:58AM I think I shall reroll a new protection paladin. I want to kill them all with Holy Power.
Wait, I already have two paladins, including one of 80 level?
Still. Leveling a protection paladin was sooo boring in WotLK, let's see if it is better now.
