Cataclysm cinematic now available {WoW}

Oct 17th 2010 9:58PM This cinematic is visually great, and it has some dramatic effect.

It is surprisingly good given a character as trite as Deathwing.

I find the Lich King cinematic visually similarly impressive, and *much* more moving.

Steelseries announces Cataclysm MMO gaming mouse {WoW}

Oct 16th 2010 11:11PM I wish they made a mouse like Razer Naga, or even this one, for people who use the mouse in their left hand.

I currently use Razer Lachesis; it doesn't have as many extra buttons, but it is symmetric, so it fits in the left hand.

I sure would appreciate a left-hand version with more buttons, however.

On a related note - my wife also plays WoW, and would like to use a mouse like this, but they're all too big for female hands.

Spiritual Guidance: Reforging, gemming and GCD tactics for 4.0.1 priests {WoW}

Oct 14th 2010 7:49PM I believe there is a problem in how the PW:S cooldown is measured now, which causes the effective cooldown to be more than the intended one second, even with fully talented Soul Warding.

It appears the cooldown is not triggered when the spell is cast, but only after the client receives the server's confirmation that the spell has been cast.

If your connection has 100ms lag, this means your effective cooldown is now 1.2 seconds.

If your connection has more like 300ms lag, this means that your effective cooldown is 1.6 seconds.

I believe this is untenable. Not just because it nerfs disc priests; but because it adds a severe additional burden on players with imperfect latency, in a game that attempts to reduce those burdens.

I believe this is an unintended consequence of the change; I hope we can get this fixed ASAP.
