Patch 4.1 PTR patch notes update for March 3 {WoW}

Mar 4th 2011 6:37AM i assume the multi shot change will remain as it is for about 1 or two days, because it's just too crazy,,

Patch 4.1 will not contain Firelands raid content {WoW}

Mar 3rd 2011 9:44PM i'm not sure what to make of it.

i'm far away from clearing tier 11, as the raiding situation on my server is a bit awkward, with a few established big raiding guilds, some smaller ones, but there isn't much left inbetween qualifying as good raiders. i can say i'm rather lucky to have found a good raid group, but our times are rather casual, with one or two raiding nights per week due to real life commitmens.

i guess it enables people like us to still clear everything before it becomes outdated, yet i understand that people who progress much faster are bored already and running through raids as i do with heroic instances..

well, i guess i don't have a real opinion saying it's good or bad xD

Blizzard: No triple spec on the horizon, but it's not ruled out {WoW}

Mar 3rd 2011 6:08AM i don't see why dps should be limited to one pve spec only.
it would force people to do more serious pvp if we were to have a spec for it we don't use for anything else.
being a hunter i switch too, sv for adds and heavy movement, marks for standstill, single target or occasional interrupts. so, yeah, i could do both types in one spec, but would it be optimal? heck, not even close to it..

Blizzard: No triple spec on the horizon, but it's not ruled out {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2011 8:04PM i'm not exactly in terrible need of a third spec myself, but i wouldn't mind if i had the option to get my hunter a pvp spec along with the two raiding specs.

my priest might want to be able to dip into shadow, while still being able to heal both as a disc and holy, of which i use both, given the heroic instance or the other priest's specs in a 25 man pug.

while i don't play and don't enjoy i would be glad for hybrid classes to use their utility to the maximum. our raid lacks a healer? ok, the ret paladin can switch, although he healed the other nigt. why, we want an additional meele? let the occasionally healing boomkin go as a cat..

in my opinion it would be a win win situation, and nothing really breaking the game.
it would make it a lot easier to build raids, as it's rather hard to find, say, a elemental shaman with an enhancer offspec because we want more meele on that fight, but actually on the very next fight we need ranged as it simplifies our tactic.

i'd like to see that change coming :)

ps: if they could actually turn bm into something useful, i mean a tank spec, i would still neglect pvp and be an all-around hunter^^

WoW Moviewatch: Welcome to The Deadmines {WoW}

Mar 2nd 2011 12:21PM great vid :D

Officers' Quarters: Be careful what you promise {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 10:49AM i see that i sort of establish a more exclusive society in the guild for an outstander
a point to make: my main is in this guild as well, i joined the raid group to take the place of another dps, and the raid leader invited me to stay.

the problem is that the 'exclusive' people i wanted to raid with are more or less my old raid group, we know each other, we agree on most things concerning raid attitude and so on.

i am aware that i would have to start from the beginning leading another raid, having to teach people tactics, general things like keeping their mouths shut during encounters and so on. my attitude would be a different as if i were to play with a group of people i know.

the real question for me is: should i take over the raid group or not? would it be an insult on the raid leader? or would it be ok for the forthcoming of this raidgroup, assuming i would hop over my shadow again and teach them pretty much the basics of raiding?

Officers' Quarters: Be careful what you promise {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 9:24AM my guild has a pretty similar problem, also going without solution so far.

it was stated about a month and a half back that there would be 2 to 3 10 mans going, me being one of the raidleaders. there were several unlucky events, including my pc crashing and not working for two weeks, a teammate of mine closing down his bar, so failing to play a lot due to understandable real life issues, and my maintank strolling of to the top guilds of our server and raiding progress there with their B teams, downing 7/12 bosses so far.

I decedid to let the case rest, as I made clear to my guildleader that i wanted to build a raid with 'my' people, whom I knew from icc and the like. so when it became clear that there were not enough of them available to fill up the 10 man, I stepped down from the raidleading position.

the part of the team that's still arround a lot now raids outside the guild in a quite well assembled and lead 10 man of good friend of our priest heal.

but here the drama started: the second group was delaying their raiding nights for strange reasons. the raid leader wanted to wait for a lvl 84 character to gear up before he started to get going. then there were people missing, although i even asked him if i might have a chance to run with them on my alt, but he said no, he already has like 20 people to squeeze in a 10 man.
and when the first raidnight came around, it was a mess. i wasn't too surprised, i know the players in the group, and i have to say i wouldn't take them on my team. but it struck me odd what i heard from all the people in the team: the raid leader was going crazy.
tactics were not explained properly, people were shouted at due to small mistakes, threatend to be kicked from the team if their dps wasn't to be over 12k and the like.

all of this is clearly against the policies in our guild, and leaves me with a bad feeling.
i'm not sure what to do, i'm thinking to ask to take over the raidlead and attend the raid on my alt, but am afraid of the reaction of the current raid leader.

anybody got an advice for me there?

Breakfast Topic: The kill shot and other boss downing traditions {WoW}

Feb 21st 2011 8:56AM i started raiding again in cata just 2 weeks back, starting with blackwingdescent.

defense system was a real pain in the ass last night, and after that we were all motivated despite the time it took, so we downed the upcoming trash, looted 2 epics, and the tried to get the trash before maloriak down, but it ended in a completly uncoordinated wipe, with our shammy kiteng the mobs in wolf form several times around the whole room right down the elevator, just to find out that mobs can ride an elevator as well xD

the trash got the nickname hooligans, and the teamspeak was full of laughing roars and the like.

so, after we decided the trash had to be taken more serious and on another night, we rowed up for our completion of a raid night: we all go and take a bath in the lava. no screenshots, nothing, just dumb suicide^^

Addon Spotlight: 2 quickies and some addon discussion {WoW}

Feb 3rd 2011 2:13PM you could try moveanything.
basically, it enables you to move arround pretty much anything, from unit frames to bags, the auctionhouse window, pvp, LFD, whatever. not sure about this one though, but i'd give it a try ;)
