Breakfast Topic: What's the closest you've cut a boss kill? {WoW}

Aug 4th 2011 12:51PM Back in Wrath, a bunch of bosses were downed post-enrage pre-wipe. It was pretty much our "guild standard" for a first kill; it was a common enough technique that paladins would save their bubbles for the enrage to allow the dots to tick down.

Probably the absolute best one, though, was Freya Knock Knock Knock. We hit the enrage and wiped.. but a holy priest had died *right* before everyone else, and so when everyone died to the first stomp she didn't despawn, she sat there with dots ticking away... and turned friendly.

Drama Mamas: How many chances should misbehaving guild members get? {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 7:36PM Duck, I'd also like to thank you. Sounds like things are mostly working out great. And to be honest? If the officer was goading her, sounds like you are well rid of him.

Mar 11th 2011 7:34PM ^^^ What Juzelle said.

As much as I hate to do this, I'm going to have to quote a philosopher of the modern age:
Baby, I was born this way.

Mar 11th 2011 5:14PM Not this garbage again. Bathroom questions irritate.

Trans people generally use the bathroom that matches their current public appearance. Though I did hear an amusing story earlier this week about a transwoman whose presence in the men's bathroom at work caused someone to blink, walk out and check the sign on the door. She's too nervous to use the women's room at her office building, which I think is a shame.

And yes, in many places transwomen (in particular) are arrested, convicted and sentenced for "disturbing the peace" when they use women's rooms. Why? Because jackasses claim that if they don't ban transwomen from restrooms than pedophiles will crossdress and use the rooms to abuse children. This has actually been pretty much proven false, but it doesn't stop anyone from claiming it anyway.

/frustration!

Ready Check: Run speed is nearly a requirement {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 2:54PM Yes. No class that can spec for speed (feral, assassination, paladins) should get the enchant. The enchant is slower.

Mar 11th 2011 2:52PM Very true, you *can* beat it without. On the other hand, I *can* run across the street while traffic is coming, as long as I'm careful. Doesn't mean I should.

Lag can be an issue. Slow reactions can be an issue. Simple RNG can be an issue. If having the speed enchant saves your ass 1 time out of 1000, how is that not worth it? Especially since the run enchant has a DPS component almost as strong as the pure DPS ones (35 mastery vs. 50 mastery, hit or haste).

And when you said you killed the blind dragon, you were referring to Heroic or normal?

Mar 11th 2011 2:47PM The bonus from it is about the same as the bonus from Lavawalker. But your alternative for Lavawalker is (as a caster) is a bit (50) haste, hit or mastery. The alternative to the Fleet gem is 54 Int (almost always at least 2:1 better than Mastery or better) and 3% increased crit damage (which is between a 1 and 2% increase to damage for most casters).

Mar 11th 2011 2:37PM For emergencies, nothing beats cooldowns. But for constant movement fights - especially Atramedes, and I'm guessing especially especially Heroic Atramedes - nothing beats a constant % increase.

Ready Check: Run speed is nearly a requirement {WoW}

Mar 11th 2011 2:35PM No, the fleet gem is bad. You get a much bigger boost out of the enchant, and since they don't stack it's useless to use the gem. Even the stam+speed enchant is better than the Fleet meta.

Mar 11th 2011 2:27PM It's also common for Healadins. They have 4 points left over for optional things, and 2/2 imp. judgement 2/2 Pursuit is one of the better ones.
