Apr 4th 2012 11:16AM Wow, only 500-600G for opposite faction Argent Tourney pets? Was that when AT was current content? I wish they had been that cheap on my server!
Even when the Tourney was relatively current content they were always several thousand gold, now they tend to get posted as high as 6k.
Apr 4th 2012 11:12AM All of my toons rock the Horde Balloon. My druid main has 154 pets, but he's always got the balloon by his side (unless I'm having a 'my pet collection is cooler than yours' battle with guildies). I especially enjoy how the balloon sticks with all of his shapeshift forms, even if it does hover about five feet below him while in bird form.
It started off as an easy raid marker for healers to keep track of the only (at the time) melee dps during the first tier of Cata raiding because our then raid leader had a rule about only tanks and healers getting real raid markers.
The only toon who occasionally changes it up is my hunter, when I feel like having a trio of a certain animal (Venomhide Ravasaur/Black Worg mount, hunter pet, and companion pet).
Mar 24th 2012 1:18PM I will be breaking my naming convention for sheer amusement with my monk. All of my toons are named after characters in a fantasy trilogy I've been writing off and on for the last decade.
But my Brewmaster will be named a red-tailed female Pandaren named Zummi, because the models for the red pandas look eerily close to character designs from the old Gummi Bears cartoon from the early 90s.
I've never made a "just for laughs" character name before; even my bank alts have serious names. But I just couldn't resist with this one.
*sings* Gummi Bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere!
Mar 17th 2012 12:55PM While our guild isn't currently raiding regularly, we have long standing traditions of dance parties. Often scantily clad dance parties. That I would initiate usually, because my main always have a Lovely Red Dress in his bag. As a male tauren druid, he would provide the Cheesecake Beefcake atmosphere to get the party started.
Since transmog I made his resto set look utterly ridiculous, mostly for laughs. The overall look (and some of the pieces) came from a guild event Naked Dungeon Run (heading into low level dungeons with no gear at all and equipping as you get drops). It includes what can only be described as hot pants and a chest harness, all tied together with a jaunty short cape. It's ridiculous, it makes me laugh, and it makes my guildies groan when I macro /flex into my heals.
Mar 15th 2012 1:10PM That be-damned Storm Giant that pats around in Howling Fjord. He's sneakier than the Fel Reaver and just as ruthless. Every time I ding 85 on a toon, I head out to take him down even if I hadn't levelled specifically through the area.
I'm notorious for killing all and every giant I come across though, particularly because I like to rawrbomb on my main. Druid rapid descent technique + feral charge = fun.
Feb 28th 2012 11:30AM Whenever my main is hanging out in Orgrimmar (not as frequently as most Hordies, because his hearth is actually Undercity), he tends to spend most of his time sitting in flight form on top of the tallest totem pole at the inn in Valley of Wisdom (aka Tiny Tauren Town).
He just perches up there and watches the hustle and bustle of the city stretched out below.
If I'm ever out in Northrend near Grizzly Hills I always take time for a detour to sit on top of Grizzlemaw and just listen to the music. It's my favourite soundtrack in the game, and the zone reminds me of home. Because of the environment, not the furbolgs or giants.
Feb 7th 2012 11:38AM I'm a bit of a jack of all trades in my guild, really. My most current role seems to be stand-in guild leader while our awesome and wonderful GL struggles through computer issues and a busy semester. I've got a custom rank that sets me above the officer rank; I don't really have more abilities than any of them, but people seem to look to me as the voice of authority when the GL isn't around.
My rank is Rikapedia (my main's name is Rikansolusar) because I have the answer to most questions asked in guild chat, related to WoW or not. Secretly it's because I tend to have two computers running simultaneously (my laptop is always running my Skype or Vent chat as well as a 'waiting in queue' internet browser), so I always have WoWhead up. Our guild is notorious for altholics; there are always people rolling new classes or trying out new specs and professions, so I try my best to help people level by offering alt runs, comparison stats, and crafting mats. My alt army is nearly ready to provide whatever professions necessary, and since our GL's playtime is scarce right now, I'm the defacto guild jewelcrafter.
When we raid I'm the Focus Police for when people start getting a little punchy and distracted, and Skype/Vent gets off-topic. I'm also the main organizer of "retro raids" because aside from being altholics, we're all a bunch of achievement hounds.
Jan 7th 2012 7:02PM I'm a female and my toons are a 50/50 split in gender. I have 6 taurens, 4 of which are male, because I think their character models and animations are my favourite. I don't notice the treatment difference because of my characters, rather in my guild I get treated differently when new people find out I'm a girl. Most of the time it's fine, but occasionally I get creeped on. Which doesn't last long, usually a guild demotion or two will quell that.
Dec 2nd 2011 11:16AM My noob moment was less of a "new to the game" and more of a "just switched specs for the first time" noob moment. After struggling to level my feral (cat) druid through BC content and having no clue about how the talent tree was supposed to be working, I got frustrated and decided to become a crit chicken instead.
Respec'd, regeared, I queue for my first dungeon as ranged DPS, running Steamvaults with a PUG. We get to the first boss and my muscle memory had me casually pressing my Prowl hotkey. Well, it had been prowl. But now it was Starfall.
Pulled ALL the things instantly. Much PUG death did ensue. I sheepishly apologized and slunk off to redo my action bars.
