Blood Sport: Drain Mana's removal and its impact on arena {WoW}
Jan 12th 2011 1:04PM I've made very few comments in the past, but I feel compelled to weigh in on this one with a few thoughts.
First, with the multitude of changes coming in patch 4.0.6, I am disappointed that Moore failed to address anything but the removal of mana drain. This article is nothing but complaining from someone who obviously plays a warlock (as Sam pointed out). While Moore attempts to cite this as a removal of one way to win an arena match, I think that line of reasoning is inaccurate. Removing mana drain eliminates a way for warlock teams to win arena. If the removal of one ability from one class takes away what is considered to be a viable win strategy, it never should have been a viable win strategy to begin with.
The other idea in the article that I have a problem with is Moore's contention that Cataclysm arena is balanced around rated battlegrounds. I don't think GC or anyone from Blizz ever said or alluded to that being a design goal for this xpac. Arena balance remains important to the WoW developers as is readily evidenced from the fact that they are actively making changes with this stated purpose.
Finally, I think Moore's aggressive defense of his article in the comments section is simply further evidence that he has a vested interest in the issue discussed. The flame war he instigated with Sam is unprofessional and certainly discourages people from posting comments to this or future articles. Moore's accusation of trying to sock puppet is essentially an ad hominem attack to detract from the truth of Sam's comments. Being a skilled arena player and a contributing editor is not a free license to be a jerk.

Oct 21st 2010 8:55PM I've had a lot of luck using Comergy on my feral druid. The audible queues are single piano notes with lots of reverb. The notes are very noticeable over the over WoW sounds. I haven't touched my druid since 4.0.1, so I'm not sure if it still works.
