May 22nd 2011 12:49AM Death log and damage taken are very useful.
DPS meter can be useful if people are doing far below what they should be able to pull for their encounter given the encounter and their gear, same with healers.
Apr 23rd 2011 12:42AM I have three "mains", basically my level 85s that I actually play. So while my DK can solo content, I only collect vanity content on my original main, my priest. So as an experienced tank, raid leader, healer, ranged DPS, and competent player (despite not finding much time to raid in Cata) I will probably do my Random heroics more often to get valor points and the potential of BoA rewards for my main (the bag will be BoA), or at least more consistently (7 per week). However, I may only do them on weekends, as I'm currently in a situation where it is best for me not to join a new guild, due to time commitment elsewhere.

Mar 10th 2011 12:18PM It's possible that homosexuality is effectively illegal under the laws created by the monarchies / authoritarian régime that rule over Azeroth by banning openly gay relationships or sexual intercourse or sodomy or otherwise. Several Cataclysm quests make it clear that there's no freedom of speech in Stormwind, so it's likely that there is a great deal of sexual orientation bias and discrimination that would cause LGBT and intersexual members to repress themselves and seclude their feelings from society. They're in the closet because they'll be hanged if it gets out.
Feb 22nd 2011 3:50PM Considering how long it took them to add Absorbs to the combat log and how long it took people to believe that damage mitigation (in this case, absorption, you can't really measure inspiration, tank cooldowns, etc) was actually effective. Absorbs didn't appear in the combat log until 4.0.1 and while recount added it, you had to have 2 recount plugins (guessed absorbs, and heal + absorb) to work with it. Some people weren't content with "guessed absorbs" and not every raid leader used it (pugs, in particular but there are some uninformed officers, but then again pretty much everyone pugged ToC25 normal while waiting for LK and there was much drama). It wasn't fully realized until the Lich King fight basically required a discipline priest, at least on heroic or 25 player mode, to spam the raid with shields to fight off infests. And it was boring. Occasionally you got a penance off at the tank or some dots/smite off on a Val'ykr or popped a pain suppression when they double enraged and set up a power infusion macro for the guild leader/high ranking officer which also so happens to be a class that can benefit from it.
Took them two expansions to fix Prayer of Healing (I suppose it worked in vanilla, but in BC it wasn't effective unless you had an excess of healing priests).

Jan 21st 2011 7:58PM World of Warcraft is illegal in China right? (they've gone back and forth on this issue). It'd be trivial to block Chinese IP addresses from accessing World of Warcraft. I'd imagine it's illegal because privacy is illegal, and World of Warcraft is encrypted.
For Goldfarming outside China, the legal option (and not just banning the accounts) will probably be used more and more often after the Glider case is resolved.
What's the legal status of World of Warcraft in Japan anyway? I've noticed theirs not a Japanese localization.
Jan 21st 2011 7:45PM *) Standing in Fire. People who run immediately back into fire following a lifegrip
*) Healers that can't heal the tank but when the group wipes and everyone runs back they're still alive, they've managed to keep themselves up by spamming themselves.
*) Healers that start drinking, fall behind without announcing anything
