The stunt itself was stupid, but it did get them on the frontpage of every gaming site I read, so I guess it qualifies as a huge success. It also did cause some nerd rage, but that's the most impotent rage in existence, so I don't think they're going to see any ill effects.
On the other hand it really made me realize how valuable GoG is. Besides the PC indie scene, no-one else sells games without DRM. My heart really sunk when I read the news on Sunday, especially when I saw the short-lived note about how the site couldn't continue without DRM. That was nasty. :)
Also, when an online company goes down, I think this is exactly how it would happen. One day the creditors would pull the plug and suddenly the site and your data is gone and that is that. All the people fired, no-one would help you get your data back and you couldn't even sue since the company is broke. Incidentally, I just bought an external hard drive with raid today. Lesson learned.
Also, Baldur's Gate. Hard to stay angry at people who bring that kinds of gifts. :)
May 29th 2010 2:54AM I see they're boasting about the AI again. You'd think they'd learned by now.
Apr 20th 2010 1:49PM XCom turns into an FPS, Ultima turns into a browser based war game. Particularly impressive considering Britannia doesn't even really have warring factions. Wonder if the Guardian is a playable character...
Jan 24th 2010 2:53PM They can use any kind of lighting and bloody facial animations they want, but nothing they make will be more intense than A&P played as a marine. I haven't felt so intense terror in a game ever since.

You're actually right. We've been stuck at 256 shades of gray for over a decade. Any single color scene still looks like crap. We need more bits per pixel.
(Yes, yes, you were being edgy. Still right, though)
Sep 14th 2009 5:03PM "all of which seems a bit pricey for something that makes it a little more convenient to play the games you already have."
That, and the whole "useless 'cause of lag" thing.
Jul 17th 2009 4:51PM Brutal Legend's multiplayer component interests me precisely as much as Bioshock 2's.
