Shifting Perspectives: The unbearable suckhood of pugging {WoW}

Dec 22nd 2010 8:29PM Hmm. Let's look at my mage's gear. Most of which drops from either quest rewards pre-Twilight highlands (I've only completed up to Firebeard in Highlands) or from regular dungeons sans one piece of 346 gear I bought from Justice.

Helm: Typhonic Beast: 333 Regular Halls of Origination
Neck: Charm of the Muse: 333 BoE drop from Reg HoO
Shoulders: Blight-Lifter's Mantle: Dungeon Quest Lost City of the Tol'vir
Cloak: Azureborne Cloak: 333 Regular Grim Batol
Chest: Robes of Rampant Growth: 333 Regular Reg HoO
Wrists: Sand Silk Wristband: 333 Regular Tol'Vir
Weapon: Blade of the Burning Sun: 333 Regular HoO
Offhand: Hermit's Lamp: 346 Justice Point Vendor
Wand: Beach-Sweeper Wand: 318 Quest Reward in Twilight Highlands
Hands: Deathsilk Gloves: 316 Tailoring craftable
Belt: Truth-Seeker Belt: 333 Major Samuelson Questline in SW
Legs: Leggings of Promise: 325 Final Harrison Jones Quest in Uldum
Feet: Sandals of the Courier: 333 Quest Reward in Grim Batol
Ring 1: Abandoned Dark Iron Ring: 333 BoE Drop in Reg Grim Batol
Ring 2: Eye of the Stars: 325 Quest Reward in Uldum
Trinket 1: Sorrowsong: 333 Regular Tol'Vir
Trinket 2: Anhuur's Hymnal: 333 Regular HoO

My average item level is 331and I have no Rep rewards, I have one crafted item on my hands and I can get into heroics and do decent DPS between 9-11k. Most of my gear came from running regular dungeons. You can get geared from heroics by doing regular dungeons. There are other easier ways but it is doable.

The Light and How to Swing It: Paladin Protection glyphs {WoW}

Nov 3rd 2010 8:34PM I find that I love having vanishing powder available and not having to keep millions of glyphs on me. I pop out my glyph of focused shield on raid trash, and then pop it back in on single target fights. Combine that with Shield of the Righteous and then the Seal of Truth glyph keeping me expertise capped, it's easy to hold threat on my guild's top DPS (doing 10-17k usually). Not having to carry around glyphs is just so awesome for raiding now. Switch when you need to and not take up bag space.

I really feel that minor glyphs are minor and it really has no bearing at all what you take. Blessings or Seals, either way, you don't cast them often and the casts themselves are cheap anyways.
