Oct 21st 2011 3:21PM BOOOOOOOOOOO
I AM DISAPPOINT.
Seriously, blizzard just insured i won't be playing WoW til 2013.
Pandarens are supposed to be a joke.
A lot of stories to tell, and they pick Pandarens as a theme for expansion.
Diablo, Heart of the Swarm, here we go.
Oct 21st 2010 11:10AM Hmm.
My wow life has been a curious one. I started playing around...may 2005 i think.
My first character was a Dwarven Paladin.
I can't say i was overly impressed with the starting zone. After that i had many 1-35 characters but i failed to reach 60 long after the burning crusade was already ENDING. (i have trouble leveling. it's not my favorite thing in the world)
But i have to say the first moment i realized the hugeness and scope of this game was the first time i saw a 40-man Raid party moving towards Ahn'qiraj.
I followed them until the gates.
It was the day the gates of ahn'qiraj were opened after that HUGE collecting effort realmwide.
What i saw there nearly burned out my old PC. There ware around....2 thousand players in front of the gates.
Another more simple moment, and these ocurr a lot because i am a great appreciator of the work blizzard puts into making azeroth a consistent and life breathing context.
Was visiting places historic to the Warcraft lore.
The place where mannoroth's spear is located in Ashenvale. Andorhal, Black Rock Mountain, the Dark Portal, Scholomance, the Graymane Wall,
I still take screenshots with famous heroes NPC just like a real life fanboy.
When i got to rexxar in Outlands i nearly flipped. He was so cool it was ridiculous. And one of my favorite Warcraft characters ever.
My first raid experience was with a friend's toon. It was a lvl 70 Rogue.
We were doing Gruul's lair. And the size of that bastard still boggles my mind.
As for the themed expansions
in BC it was the first time i saw nagrand with my own eyes. To this day, still one of the most beautifully crafted zones in WoW.
in Wrath my favorite moment was the whole quest in dragonblight leading to Angrathar.
It was one of my favorite lore elements of the whole storyline and it was one of the most pivotal moments in warcraft history. Plus that first blizzard-made cutscene is the shit.
And i'm glad they liked the idea themselves because Cutscenes = Win.
The second favorite was the Death Knight Starting zone. It was blizzard at it's best excelling at fun and ingenuity. It's the single smoothest levelling experiences i've ever seen in a MMORPG.
and in Cata..Hmmm i haven't seen anything first hand yet. But i have a feeling that the Dwarven and Worgen storylines will be really really cool.
I don't care much for WoW's dragons storylines. So i'll be focusing on the races.
Also Thrall's new journey and Garrosh at the helm will be interesting to see it unravel.
Mar 4th 2010 1:43PM I like Knaak's books. But truly he spends too much writing about the dragons when the races of azeroth themselves are much more interesting. We all know the dragon stuff.
One thing that does bother me about his books is that i don't like some of the names he comes up with. Rhonin is a really silly name in my opinion. Prestor, also definately not my favorite.
The storytelling isn't bad. But man, he should write about other stuff unrelated to dragons cause he's starting to create some annoyance.
I'm not a big fan of Krasus because of him. Krasus and Kalecgos are a couple of really boring dragons.
When you have a dragon/elvish character and the HUMAN stands out, something's terribly wrong.
But the night elves parts of his novel are cool.
But Golden's books are better like most people said.
Nov 24th 2009 2:56PM I'm totally up for changing some models.
Human models are DISGUSTING. Ugly. The faces are all horrible retard looking frat boys.
They are only helped if you give them facial hair/moustache.
Their posture for buffed up men like that is completely whacked.
Standing with those perfectly paralell feet and elbows parallel to torso.
Their idle animation is ugly. They tilt their hips in the gayest manner ever without moving their feet.
You can see the difference it made on Arthas' lich king model. Before it was the regular human skeleton (for posing/animation) then they remade it to make a more imposing, confident pose.
Nightelven models look really dated too. But less ugly.
Undead models should have the option not ot have BONES exposed on knees/elbows.
In a perfect WoW, undead should be able to choose between being Any time of "undead race." undead tauren, gnome, dwarf. Like the DK's did. But i suppose that would be a LOT o work for the initial game.
Now a days WoW models have twice the frames than the older ones. The animation is sharp, creative, sutil at times.
I hope blizz delivers on this ! Because it would be a great thing!
WoW gets dated every year that passes. Specially with games like Aion hanging around.
They NEED to upgrade faster.
Sep 21st 2009 8:25PM WoW
Telltale should give htis guy a ring.
Because if it's one thing their games are pretty FAIL at is MOOD and lighting.
It all looks made of silly putty
And this guys gives the game the right lighting and atmosphere.
Aug 27th 2009 2:07AM Poor Venezuelans...
All because of that Douchebag president of theirs.
I wish the CIA would put a bullet to Hugo Chavez' head.
Aug 3rd 2009 7:49PM Stop pretending you fellas aren't as geeky as anyone of those dudes.
It's not like most of you aren't.
If you weren't you wouldnt be hanging and commenting on an MMORPG blog.
Sammy is a character, that's for sure.
From left to right.
Samwise, Metzen, René, Thamer, Rane, Lee and Gibbons. and a shadowpriest.
Jul 23rd 2009 8:29AM Wow
you seem to be pretty blind
Check the armor out and tell me if it's the same. Old sylvannas model WASNT BLUE she was deadish PINK with BLACK armor and hoods.
This one is blue/pale skinned with purple armor, cloak, skulls.
-_- people with no attention to detail shouldn't judge this kind of thing.
Jul 22nd 2009 10:01PM I think both look pretty fucking cool
Some of you forget that LIGHTING does a huge deal in changing the way we see objects.
Magni Bronzebeard looks fucking awesome and should look like that ingame too
Lets hope the extreme makeover is on the way !!
Jul 10th 2009 11:51AM Seriously?
I don't get the argument. If you're attending a public (and heavily crowded) place, you don't need to smell DELICIOUS. You don't need to smell at all.
But that unwashed (moldy rained on clothes) smell and BO is really unpleasant for people around you and will make their experience sort of crappy. So do it for the greater good.
I stopped going to anime and other geek related conventions/gatherings because of the funky people.
I mean, you're going out, take a shower, brush your teeth mate!
And if you ate something that is not in your habit and it did not sit well, well dude, go to the fucking bathroom. Don't fart around and pretend it's not you.
"So I was in line to the Bat Handler yesterday with some undead guy in front of me and all of the sudden he just lets one go! Didn't even try to disguise it! I don't know what he ate but it did not agree with him. I thought, 'What crawled up YOU and died?'"
But oh well, if you don't like it anyway, they don't get pissed at people frowning and complaining. They did their part, they don't smell like used socks.
