Jan 5th 2012 10:45AM I trained myself early when I got Redirect farming for leather, if you are combat and have a Bandit's Guile addon to help you keep track of it you'll see a real difference in knowing when to use it and when to hold off. When in doubt I say use it and see what works best for your play style. If you hold off all the time it becomes a tool that is never used...not really the point.
Sprint's reduced cooldown is something that I am surprised they haven't nerfed, it's that great.
Dec 30th 2011 6:32PM I've almost bought this bear so many times! :D
Dec 30th 2011 9:47AM I can totally understand people saying they hated/didn't like 2011 as a rogue, I had my moments there as well when my raid leader seemed to single me out on my low damage - constantly having to respec or play my offspec because combat wasn't at all viable for a fight. However, with that in mind you have to look at all the things a rogue brings to a raid besides just damage. Lots of people above mentioned the different mechanics that rogues could either interrupt or negate with our skills. Maloriak is a perfect example - our team killed him on Heroic before the nerfs ONLY because I was willing to sacrifice my personal dps to make sure that things were interrupted as soon as they were cast. Cloaking that freeze debuff was also pretty amazing to save an attempt from a wipe.
Our damage has gone up significantly in DS even with only stage 1 daggers - I just like to think that rogues bring a ton more to raids than just damage, it's what I pride myself as a rogue on - doing the little things that help the raid get kills.

Apr 1st 2011 4:15PM This is exactly my role - I play combat on Heroic Halfus 25 and I am on of the 2 kickers assigned. I go straight dps on Halfus until threat is established, add Blade Flurry after about 10 seconds and cleave until all adds are dead, toggle it off and then we finish him off. I end up on top with damage and dps in that fight but never top the meters on any other boss fight. The dps range I've been getting is between 65-70k dps if you can believe it. With all the buffs/debuffs the damage is crazy, so I can only imagine what a Combat Rogue who isn't on interrupts could do...ah the glory days... :)
Mar 30th 2011 12:31PM I think it is hard balancing the two specs and have found that unless you have the ability to have separate sets of gear with only a few pieces overlapping you will be giving up some of the min/max stats that rogues use as law. I personally am more comfortable as Combat but my guild asked me to be able to adjust to Assassination on fights and even with all my gear min/maxed for Combat my Assassination numbers on single target are still very, very strong. Not ideal, but if you are getting those Agility socket bonuses and can be effective with the different rotations you should be able to do good damage.
Nov 10th 2010 9:01PM I have appreciated Aldriana's spreadsheets and info. ever since I found them on EJ. Big thank you for helping to make me a much more knowledgeable rogue and a viable raider coming from zero MMO experience.
Thanks to Aldriana and Chase for being great resources for rogues. And I do believe the gloves are a in-game tribute, if not that is a huge coincidence since they are rogue gear.
