May 9th 2011 11:25AM I have pugged the new heroics 3 times now.
The most recent time, I came in on the last boss. 'Great I thought, I only need 30VP for a new pair of trousers [or pants if you will], this should be easy money'. 105 minutes later, Jin'do was dead. After 3 tanks, 4 healers, and 4 dps quit. I think only 1 guy remained from the original grouping.
Anyway my question is, how many wipes would you endure before leaving a pug?
(In general, Unless I am of the opinion that the group is in no way geared for the boss, or people are constantly doing the wrong thing, I usually stick around for the duration if time permits).
May 6th 2011 8:49AM Sleeping with the boss.. how original ;)
But seriously grats to you, and everyone else who met through WoW.
Being in Europe, there are guildies all over the place, denmark, sweden, netherlands, croatia - a true transeuropean bunch who write better english than must of us limeys. And they make the effort to use the caps key too.
Would I ever meet them? Not sure... I certainly wouldn't go too far out of my way to make it happen, though they they are a great bunch - in game. It could be like the old adage of 'never meet your hero'.
Apr 19th 2011 8:40AM Is there any reason why this feature could not be possible through, say, the battle.net website? Is it just cos they then can't charge money for it, or some other technical reason?
(Personally I'm against every company (and even governments) making an 'app': forgetting that while it's a popular phone, it's not a prerequisite to being allowed to breathe on this planet)
Apr 13th 2011 10:22AM Putting the cooldown abilities into my rotation properly. AFAIK now, I have 4 main ones (rogue), ToTT, Vendetta, Coldblood, and the Orc racial one, plus a potion somewhere in a fight.
I always do CB at the wrong time.. I have 4 CPs or less, but still I have this urge of 'ooh, CD is off, quick gotta use it again' and have pressed the button to think a split-second later that I really should have waited. It's not like I don't know what I should be doing..
My DPS is OK, just not awsome like it should be. My first raid with a guildie rogue was just last week, and he was pumping out 15% more than me, with only a slightly better gearing.
Apr 12th 2011 3:25AM I think it is very important that a GM is supported by at least 2 officers who are there to co-run a guild... Firstly because with even a smallish guild one person will eventually find it tiring organising everyone and everything. Secondly, a GM may want to change the way a guild oeprates and as such needs to have support.. if an unpopular decision is made then he/she needs support to back up new ideas.
My case, an old guild. GM decided one day to split the raiding element of the guild... i.e. himself and the other hardcore raiders (about 12 of them). Suddenly a massive divide between the casual and not so casual. I was disappointed with this, then even more so when one of the officers (a hardcorist) posted in the forum that she was amazed by what had happened and that she was leaving because of it - I'd considered her an almost second-in-command, so for her to not know about it suggested that there wasn't really any discussion in the upper echelons about the guild. This scared me.
Apr 7th 2011 1:10PM Is there any reason why we can't gain faction rep while in raids using tabards?
Mar 29th 2011 3:40PM Well Drakkenfyre, for what it's worth I did read your post with genuine interest - and there is no intended sarcasm in *this* post.
Mar 29th 2011 2:23PM I was thinking today... there's a huge craze in tablet PCs what with the iPad et al. (et al being I dunno the names of the others). Anyway I had a great idea for a new type of device. I want to have a hard keyboard, so I reckon you could put a keyboard on a hinged flap that you could fold over the tablet screen to protect both the keys and the screen when not in use. I find it hard to believe I am the first person to think of this. Has anyone got Jobs's phone number?
Mar 18th 2011 6:13AM Just fyi, you are able to mount up on your usual flying mount underwater. Which means you don't need to use any water walking abilities. But using your usual mount is slooow underwater, so fly up to the surface.
(I did this when first in vash'jir as I was desparate to get my hands on some herbs without having to do quests first).
As for where the flight points are, best consulting a map online. I believe though that most are phased and depend on quests being done first. Though I could be wrong here.
Mar 14th 2011 3:14PM I have a 14 month old. I reckon that this song is gonna be great for teaching the days of the week.
Gettin close to Des'ree's uber-hit:
"I don't want to see a ghost,
It's the sight that I fear most
I'd rather have a piece of toast
And watch the evening news."
