Patch 4.0.6 hotfixes for Feb. 18 {WoW}

Feb 19th 2011 5:37AM True, but 4 people from the same guild group up to do a dungeon.. they get a complete ass-hat as a random, so obviously they kick him. a few seconds later another random DPS is selected by the RDF and he turns out to be AS MUCH of a tard, if not MORE of one, but, with these new rules in place, the guild group has just been penalised for kicking jerk-wad #1 and now have to suffer with Jerk-wad #2 even LONER (most likely resulting in more wipes, more repair bills, more stress for all the guildies involved).

Am I the only one who can see this backfiring? The guilds will close up their doors, drag along a guildie who even though he may be below average with his playing skills, will at least behave correctly (after all. no=one wants to be gkicked these days and lose all their perks..) meaning that the dungeon finder queues will get EVEN WORSE.

As we all know.. there are plenty of window lickers out there who are either incapable of playing in a team, or just plain unwilling to for whatever reasons (most likely boredom with the game so they get their kicks by making everyone else's lives hell) Why should a guild who finds the need to PUG a 5th member for whatever reason be punished for ejecting someone who is being disruptive or a liability?

I loathed the dungeon finder at the best of times due to player attitudes. now I think i will be sticking exclusively to FULL guild runs.

WoW Moviewatch: The Ballad of the Noob {WoW}

Feb 17th 2011 1:19PM This is definitely a classic... probably the second WoW Machinima I ever watched. (The first being The internet is for Porn)

When are we going to be getting some of the NEWER videos featured though? It seems this column doesn't actually post much that isn't at least a year old. There are loads of new Machinimakers out there who would KILL for the exposure!

Feb 12th 2011 1:58PM My Apologies, I was not laying accusations of laziness in the original wording of my initial post, sadly at the time of typing it, words escaped me and I do understand that the whole process of making a model is not as simple as slapping a Jpeg onto a wire frame and naming it Bob.

and I didn't think that such an off the cuff and frankly odd question would illicit so many responses. Thank you to all of you for them, it has given me much to read and think about.

Feb 12th 2011 12:11PM Random and perhapse Stupid question for the Queue....

But one that i have wondered on several occasions.

Why do we not see Mixed race NPCs about the world?? Surely it is possible that a Tauren has fallen in love with an Orc, or a Troll with a Blood Elf.. Maybe a Dranaei with a Human? or God forbid, a Worgen with a Gnome (Can anyone say Chihuahua?)

are there any lore type reasons for this? ir is it just laziness on the part of the model makers?

Breakfast Topic: What pop figures deserve an Easter egg in WoW? {WoW}

Feb 12th 2011 11:45AM There are actually quite a few Doctor Who references in the game.. the whole Skybox from the Maly raid is one of them

Sometimes all you need to do is piece it all together

The Queue: Alex talks mostly about RIFT due to lack of anything better {WoW}

Feb 7th 2011 1:21PM To be honest, I am vaguely interested in hearing about RIFT.. I have been playing WoW since vanilla launch and to be quite frank, it is starting to get painfully boring. Not a whole lot has changed REALLY.. it still mostly consists of "Go kill this" or "Go talk to so-and-so" quests. Sure they may have changed since Cata hit, but it still boils down to the same game.

Now a diversion that is very familiar in the way it plays, but different in a lot of other aspects sounds like something that could be interesting to do when I have one of my "Bored of WoW" spells (which sadly are becoming more and more frequent) and it seems this game is shaping up to be a pretty viable alternative to World of Warcraft. Will it kill WoW. No. Wow is WAY ahead in so many development aspects that I am sure that at best even IF RIFT becomes legitimate competition and looks to be capable of actually killing WoW, that can only be a good thing as it will knock Blizzard out of their complacency and the competition will jolt them in to producing an even better game maybe even changing WoW's ageing Engine.

Way I see it. RIFT isnt a bad thing by any means.
