Chronicle: An elegant way of tracking your bills {}

Apr 26th 2010 9:13AM My common charges for my condo. Its the only check I write per month and I just can't bring myself to have my bank mail a check when I can just walk a hundred feet and drop it off. But still... not a fan of checks.

What's missing from the iPad {}

Jan 28th 2010 9:49AM I haven't seen any information on how we get files on and off the device. I'm assuming that we'll use iTunes sync for this. I'm hoping that Apple comes up with a richer experience for this than is currently offered by the iPhone.

Downloading photos to my new iPad just to sync them back to my iMac (or whatever) seems counter productive. Plus, now that we have iWork apps how to we share and manage those docs? How do we edit docs from an email or from our iDisk (or Dropbox or whatever)? Maybe I'm hoping for something that won't happen or maybe the details are hidden behind the NDA.

It's a bird! No, it's an app! No, it's Tweetie 2 for iPhone! {}

Sep 29th 2009 10:59AM I don't mind them charging for the new app, but how many times can you rewrite the same app and keep charging for the new one? I guess we'll find out. "This just announced: Tweetie 3 for $2.99!!!"

My only real beef is that I paid $2 for Tweetie 1 and got nothing else except an announcement of Tweetie 2. For a paid app, I expect a few updates here and there even if they're working on a new version.

Sep 2nd 2009 1:34AM Productivity schmoductivity!

Right now I use Remember the Milk (mainly the iPhone app), but I'd love to give Things a try.

Getting Ready for Snow Leopard: Installation Options, Backups, and What To Buy {}

Aug 28th 2009 11:37AM This is a small rant, but I think its valid.

I don't see why, in this day and age, we can't just do an upgrade and have it work. I'm a tech guy and I know what that means, but if apple can't make the upgrade process smooth then count me disappointed. Or old fashioned. Or whatever. Aside from the "spring cleaning" reason I'm not sure there's any technical reason to avoid a plain old upgrade. I'd love to read about it if there were.

I upgraded my MBP from Tiger to Leopard without problem so I'm trusting that the same will happen from Leopard to Snow Leopard. Come on Apple, don't let me down!
