Oct 17th 2011 8:45AM I really don't see Garrosh getting the chop any time soon. I liked his character development through The Shattering and I think it'd be a shame for him to have finally learnt a few things to be 'offed' by something. Plus I actually think he's got scope to grow into a much better leader than Thrall, he actually wants to lead for a start. I grant he's not everyone's cup of tea and he is far from perfect but I think he deserves a little longer in the chair in Org.
Sylvannas' story is clearly building to something but I have no clue where that would go, how the Forsaken would continue in the horde or who would lead them if she was bumped off. Besides, she is extremely popular, because she is so damn evil!
Variann is a douche-bag. I play mainly alliance and even I think he's a douche-bag. I've yet to read Wolfheart but I can't see it changing my mind from what I've heard. It's a shame that he hasn't been given some ability at empathy or compassion, you'd think Jaina would have bashed some sense into him by now. Perhaps if Anduin does become king, the next expansion will see horde and alliance working together again?? With Velen's links with the Blood Elves, Anduin's past experience with Baine there are the ties there ... there's only a few things that could go wrong.... Failing that, kill off Velen, he's so old he probably needs a rest.
Sep 28th 2011 9:08AM And also I meant Rexxar, not Rethgar. /lorefail. This is why I need to resub.
Sep 28th 2011 8:39AM Isn't the Lunar festival kind of NE centric? Ties in with Elune and has strong ties to Moonglade - which I grant is class based more than race - but still, seems fairly NE centric to me. And Brewfest is definitely about the dwarves, at least from the Alliance side. However you can argue that both of these are 'real world' imports, Chinese New Year and Oktoberfest and I have to agree, something more along the lines of Azerothian history would be great.
The factions could celebrate their heroes on different days/holidays, Alliance gets a 'Lothar' day, Horde get's Rethgar. There isn't even a 'crash land on Kalimdor' memorial day!
Aug 11th 2011 8:44AM He was there by some fluke in a Knaak storyline. Whilst I admit his actions were brave, personally I don't count him as the saviour of Azeroth.
To my mind, the horde have had several uniting leaders, Cairne, Thrall and Vol'jin, leaders who most players can respect. On alliance, our defacto leader is Varian, a partisan leader at best who polarises the Alliance player-base. Malfurion appears to still be waking up and the dwarves are on the brink of civil war, is it any wonder we cling to the rose-tinted vision of the past and a man who united the Eastern Kingdoms?
FOR LORDAERON! FOR LOTHAR!
Aug 8th 2011 8:53AM This is a great idea. In a lot of singe-player games, you get a walk through of what skills your character has and what buttons to press to do punch, kick etc. Granted WoW isn't that simplistic but a walk-through dungeon would be great.
No one can teach you your role in WoW dungeons, well they can, but how often does anyone take the time to help a noobie? A dungeon with a walk-through of 'here comes the next group of bad-guys, we call them mobs. Remember to avoid the casters pool of death and hit the mobs in the back!'
Combine that with the class quests mentioned by someone else here and you'd really learn your class skills inside out.
Both of these bits would be helped if people read the quest text and tooltips though ... but I suppose that still doesn't teach you your role in a group.
Aug 3rd 2011 8:07AM I can't look at Magni. For Children's week I clicked on my party member's orphan to complete the quest. I don't even play dwarves on the whole but something about that part of the story really chokes me up. /blub
Jul 20th 2011 8:26AM Starting out with all the UI addons can be tricky and I can relate to where you're at Understud. The advice above is very sound and gives you lots of tips to viable options. One thing I'll add ... if you get confused or overwhelmed by all the add ons, don't be afraid to strip it out and start again. When you do start again, (as someone above already said) dig deep into the options available in each add on. Bartender has a 'fade' option which will hide non-critical bars when you're in combat and free up a lot of space. I only discovered this when I dug into the set up and realised how much scope there is. I spent a good couple of days sorting my UI out when I had a full add on compliment!
If you'd prefer something 'straight out of the box', you can do worse then ElvUI, TukUI and the TukUI tweaked version GrokkUI. I got lazy laying out my UI every patch and use GrokkUI and with that, Omen and Recount I'm sorted. It takes care of everything I want it to and is very light weight.
Good luck with your UI!
Jul 7th 2011 8:13AM Tanking. Rolled a warrior and then a DK and solidly refused to tank till we got to ICC. I'm not raiding any more, but something about holding that big bad boss off your friends and kicking him in the ghoulies will call me back one day I'm sure.
Jun 24th 2011 8:55AM Chester Copperpot. If only because it might mean we can whoosh down tunnels and find One Eyed Willy and scream 'Hey You Guys!'. What a cool quest chain that would be.
