Mar 11th 2011 11:50AM I have several thoughts regarding this post.
1. I agree with a lot of the othe commenters that the GM shouldn't have just invited the disgraded guildie in wihout discussing it with his/her leadership. Unless this guild is not run as a democracy, and is in fact a monarchy. Which in that case, maybe the officers shouldn't have kick priveledges?
2. The officer who made the ultimatum was childish. But from the single letter in front of us, that seems to be a running theme with this guild. Continued Childish antics from the guildie who knew the rules gets kicked. Officers putting down ultimatums because GM goes behind everyone's back and invites the kicked guildie back in without consulting the rest of the leadership. Excuses abound and excuses rule the day.
3. Written rules make everything easier. Having the rules of the guild posted where everyone can see, along with agreed upon consequences for the breaking of those rules would probably make situations like this one a moot point. It might be something the GM should consider as a way to avoid this sort of thing in the future. Otherwise this sort of thing will come up again.
4. All that being said - I admire the gender tolerance of the guild. Not everyone is like that. Tolerance for what is different is a good thing, but responsibily acting on those differences is even better.
Feb 1st 2011 4:48PM @ Drakkenfyre - That's because it IS a stalker song! Even Sting has said he wrote it while going through a divorce from his then wife. It's supposed to be an angry song from a guy who wants to control the object of his obsession. It's not a happy little love song - but so many people use it in their weddings.
I don't think people actually "listen" what the lyrics are saying. They only hear his voice and the chorus.
Jan 6th 2011 1:28PM i orginally named my first toon after my online blog "HappyGo."
Then when i did a server change adn faction change i renamed her happypills. Then my hunter was named happybirfday, and my worgen is named happytail. I like themed names because it makes me a little more memorable.
My guild notes on my alts are "moarhappy." so i guess that will be another name int he future?
