Mar 31st 2012 2:04PM Unfortunately RL has made it infeasible for me to keep up on absolutely everything that's upcoming with MoP so I have the following question:
Has Ghostcrawler (or any dev) yet said anything about just how usable the new "utility" poisons will be on dungeon & raid BOSS fights? so far what I've seen of the new poisons, leeching will be the only one that's worth anything vs a boss because they're always completely immune to slowing or stun effects. And even then, depending on the fight, leeching's actual utility may be very situational.
Dec 15th 2011 12:38PM I want to build an army of Lil'XT's!!!
Nov 28th 2011 1:06PM Having recently discovered on Encrypted Text that a lot of my best non-tier options in 4.3 are off the valour point vendor, has blizz included a heroic boss drop to upgrade valour items as in 4.2?
Nov 28th 2011 12:59PM I'm so glad I'm the only rogue in my raid group! Just to check though, I thought I read before that the quest chain for the Fangs of the Father begins in the 5-mans. is that still true or are they keeping it to the raid only?
Nov 8th 2011 10:45AM yeah when you put it that way it does sound more like they're catching up on the last two weeks that didn't have regular maintenance.
Nov 8th 2011 10:03AM I'm a little torn on how I feel about it if it IS the patch already. I'd still like a little more time in Firelands, however I'm also anxious to get started on my Fangs of the Father quest line.
Nov 8th 2011 9:54AM that may be, I also know a few people who didn't get it either, but in general the overall drop rate on the hallows end rare loots has been significantly higher since they made this change.
Nov 8th 2011 9:42AM well I can tell you that not getting the items I've been trying for over the last couple times the events have been up have had nothing to do with not putting the effort in, I was running them daily.
As for putting a throttle on the rare items I'll refer you back to my comments about the Hallows End "rare" items that don't seem to have that throttle on them at all. Multitudes of sinister squashlings and again getting 2 or 3 mounts each year across two or 3 alts. The drop rates on those ones are no where near as rare as any of the other event bosses.
Keeping a low drop rate and moving them back to the boss loot tables doesn't necessarily mean that drops will be out of control. look at boss drops like Rivendare's charger. 1% chance to drop and it took months of farming it before I got it. So long as the drop chance is fairly consistent I don't see an issue with these items being on the bosses instead of in a bag that you can only get once a day. I"d be less annoyed if the Hallow's End items were even half as rare as the others, but they haven't been since this change was implemented.
Nov 8th 2011 9:12AM @jtrack3d however if they left the bags in, simply putting some useful consumables in them, and shifted the mounts and pets and stuff back to the boss tables we wouldn't have that issue with people only taking you if you still had the quest. Moving it to the dungeon finder was a good change. putting the desired loot in the bag was not.
@GnormanGhaste: the drop percentages on the hallow's end items sure seemed to be a lot higher starting last year just after they made this change. Last year nearly everyone and their brother got that mount. I got it at least twice, once on an alt that didn't have it and once on my main that's had it since the first year it was available. same thing happened this year, I got one on my main and two on a different alt. It just seems to be the drops on all of the OTHER season bosses that have absolutely garbage drop rates.
