Arcane Brilliance: Assorted patch 4.1 thoughts {WoW}

May 8th 2011 5:08AM No. Average wait time is still 27 minutes. Nothing's changed and 4.1 is a damp squib. I logged in to see what was new and was bored at once. Cancelled one account ($180 a year saved) and last one will be soon, to play some of the other great new games. WoW needs to do some of the following:
1) Create a Vanilla server for the thousands that remember the Real wow.
2) Create proper new raids, not just Rooms With A Boss
3) Return classes to their original roles in the Vanilla Handbook eg not all classes can do everything and Hybrid classes cannot pwn Mages/Rogues in DPS
4) Make levelling HARD (and every dungeon like it was, not just 80 evels of AOE

The end of vanilla WoW {WoW}

May 7th 2011 10:21AM Please bring a Vanilla wow server back. I have cancelled one account and soon will my second. That is $360 a year lost to Blizzard. I would pay for a Vanilla server: that is all.

Arcane Brilliance: Things I want to see changed, arcane edition {WoW}

Mar 19th 2011 11:18PM Superb wishlist: all of that woukld be great. You should work for Blizzard. For me, the Mana Adept concept is utterly dumb and that's the real problem. People denigrated Arcane at the end of Wrath as a 2 button spec...now it's just ONE for all intents. We understood that the new design of class and talents in Cat would be that there would be 3 equally viable specs and in exchange, cross-talent builds would be eliminated. This of course meant that we had 3 specs down from six possible ones. Remember, arcane-fire was a spec almost everyone had once, some people liked to be elementalists and I had fun levelling to 70 that way. For some time, hybrid classes and aoe-ing warriors have put arcane mages to shame and that concept is so far from what I once read in the WoW book when I made my mage that I did close one subscription actually and already am not logging in much now. What for, to farm more heroics for things we don't want while we wait for the next expansion? Umm, we did that for a Year waiting for Cat. 4.1 had better be good, basically.

Arcane Brilliance: The new and improved arcane tree in patch 4.1 {WoW}

Mar 13th 2011 1:28AM Can you link some proof that you are doing 22k on a new boss fight with arcane?

Arcane Brilliance: The new and improved arcane tree in patch 4.1 {WoW}

Mar 13th 2011 1:23AM Yes, what was a handy spec in Wrath is now just AB a one button dreary spec that runs out of juice in 8 seconds. that is serious. I cancelled one of my two accounts at this laughable ruination of the arcane spec...why pay $180 a year for that rubbish when you coulkd get Dragon Age 2 and a slab of beer:P

These buffs are a good idea but still, i see warriors doing 40k on trash in heroics (that are zergfests already AGAIN) while arcane mages do such low AoE damage that some of the once best ones sit it out basically in raids, like rogues used to do.

The wholw Mana Adept mechanic is disasterous and it's a shame because there are/were loyal WoW mages who dislike the fussy fire cookie-cutter methodology who are leaving now. A lot are sad that the raids are just characterless rooms with bosses in , as well.

4.1 better be good, basically.

Feb 26th 2011 6:45PM "I'm just giddy. Like a schoolgirl, only male and 30ish. Similar outfits, though"

I just got 'I'm a lumberjack' playing in my head, did you?

And damn, my Blood Elf looks good in those Robes of Insight...

Drama Mamas: The case of the underage scammer {WoW}

Feb 26th 2011 7:30AM You went a little too far, assuming he really was 11. If he was, you may not realise it but phrases such as "I finally released him after about fifteen or twenty minutes" make you sound like a bully yourself somewhat. Once you realised he was 11 and didn't even know how to Ignore you should've reported him and I would've mentioned in trade what he was doing too.

People like Zhao (who claims to be a teacher, luckily not one working for me!) say things along the lines of, 'the kid needs to learn how it is in Real Life' above. Yes, they do, but there are ways to educate and ways to fail at it. If you met an 11 year old kid in a shopping mall who one day tried to sell you some fake RayBans, would you really spend 15-20 minutes in a private lecture? Would you threaten to phone him and email him (best I can equate to making alts to pursue him) if he tried to run away?

OP, you feel guilty a little for a good reason and that is because you know this went too far. Having said that, I don't think you'd do any 'damage' to him and you probably did more harm than good showing that people will resist being ripped off. The real worry to me is that someone's let him on WoW and shown him that this is how he can behave. That person would be the one who really needs the lecture.
