Mar 31st 2012 5:49PM Got my BF to answer without context:
Once upon a time, the windy king of Stormwind, Varian Wrynn, was sailing on his ship, the Pride of Yemen, when suddenly an orcish warship came out of the fog! "Battle stations!" the king ordered. "We will not let them take the treasonous monkeys!" Two troll hunters fired arrows at Varian, narrowly missing his medulla oblongata. "By Arthas's ghost! That was close," Varian defecated.
Garrosh Hellscream, warchief of the Horde, ran out onto the deck of his ship, the Falcroh's Spite Toward God. "Varian, you cowardly llama! Come face me, and feel the might of my Mag'har lymph!" Garrosh lunged forward and, with the grace of a parrot, landed on Varian's ship. The two fought until the brig was fuchsia with bones.
Suddenly, Chen Stormstout appeared in a puff of Bloody Mary. "Stop this at once! Your battle has cut off shipments of the ingredients to my prized new ale, Inspirational Tundra Winter Stout! If this continues, we will never have enough for Brewfest!" Varian and Garrosh looked at each other's explosive faces and agreed that this fighting was pointless. "Garrosh, what do you say we let bygones be bygones and have Lim x-> 0 (1/x) drinks together at Brewfest?" "A true warchief partners with purple!"

Fair point. What I'm actually most likely to do is switch specs a few times to pick which reward is better, though, so why not just let me pick to begin with?
Mar 29th 2012 8:38PM I'm a little frustrated. What I'm getting is that, since I can't really quest as my MS a lot of the time (I play healers), I'll instead have to take twice as much junk rewards for OS, and spend extra money or time on OS. This seems a little punitive toward healers, since most I know don't actually quest as a healing spec.
Mar 29th 2012 12:29PM QftQ: Is there any kind of logic behind the disparity between average wait time and how long it actually takes to get a group? My hunter always seems to spend longer than average waiting. EG this morning I queued for LFR. Average wait time 12 minutes. 20 minutes later, when I got my group, average wait time was listed as 11. This also frequently affects by hunter but seldom affects my other 85s, even when queueing as dps.
Mar 13th 2012 11:01AM Well, thanks guys for pointing out the flaws of my plan! I've been slooooowly getting my boyfriend interested in playing more. His first toon is a sub rogue and he says he likes it, but I thought he'd enjoy the feel of being ranged, so I had him roll a lock. Problem is, I was just imagining him playing aff in endgame, not the process of getting there. I leveled my warlock in a deliberately slow and grindy manner, so I did not realize this was also just the feel of the class. Oh well, he does keep saying he wants the game to be harder.
Mar 8th 2012 9:15AM My hunter is my most recent 85, and I was definitely a little resentful at the realization that she needs so much less of this kind of capped stat than any other class. It just seems absurd that my shaman would have to be both spell-hit capped and expertise capped (and still benefit from hit), whereas the hunter gets 8% and she's done.
Feb 20th 2012 11:38AM I had an LFR run that went toxic this morning; neither tank had tanked LFR before and it showed in a variety of ways.
One way was an individual using a racial slur that applies to me. I intended to report it after I got out, but then I started thinking about all the other totally unacceptable language used in that group that simply didn't have a personal impact. Should I have only reported the one that offended me, filed separate reports for the half a dozen people being racist, sexist, ableist etc, or just left a general complaint about the group and let the GMs sort it out?
Feb 19th 2012 10:22AM I started playing my main because I had a horrible head cold and wanted to be entertained without having to think (Paladin, during 3.2, then ret, now prot/holy). I kept playing her because I love the idea of blind certainty that one is doing good. I wasn't raised religious so trying to understand how someone so religious they'd kill for it thinks holds a lot of fascination for me.
Feb 11th 2012 9:56PM The Thrall questline is the source of exactly one quick and easy upgrade: a cloak. The tanking cloak is great for a prot paly, while the int cloak doesn't have spirit. The troll quests are, imo, more trouble than they're worth, unless you're interested in the story. The associated dungeons can still be hellish in a pug that doesn't know fights.
The standard way of gearing new toons is to do first-tier heroics (the ones that were around a year ago), to buy justice and valor gear, which will let you do the three new heroics. The three new heroics are fun, easy and rewarding, once you can do them.
Feb 9th 2012 10:09AM I pug for the sheer mindlessness of it a lot. It's someplace where I can just go and follow a pattern and collect rewards. If I'm in that kind of mood, I'm really not talkative. I don't mind the groups that talk a bit, generally, but there is a point where I start thinking, 'can we just get on with it?'
That said, I usually say hi and thanks, try to give advice if boss fights aren't going well, explain my intentions if I'm tanking, etc, and I will also speak up in dispute situations.
