Oct 3rd 2011 4:14PM I feel like you misread the bonus, Dawn. Its on use of Divine Hymn, and the duration is 23s to account for the 8s channel of DH (15s/3 min cd, much like the other class set bonuses).

The four piece is still awful for holy and average for disc.

Aug 17th 2011 10:02PM Most healers CANNOT solo up to 18 stacks (this is 25, YMMV if in 10). You need a cd at 12 (TB trinket, AM, PS, barrier, something) and dispersion at 18-19. Two healers might be able to manage 18 stacks, but at that point it is hitting for very nearly your entire health.

Jun 17th 2011 3:22PM Having been a healing lead in my last guild, then transferring to a new guild and seeing a totally different approach, this is an excellent article not only for healing leads, but every healer. I'm of the opinion that every healer needs to know how they themselves fit into the healing puzzle, as well as where others strengths and weaknesses are.

I'd also add that as a healing lead, you need to understand not only the classes your healers play, but also the people behind them. Some people are excellent at doing one or two specific things (keep up tank X, backup tank Y, keep yourself up) and can nail these roles but don't perform as well without direction, while others might be better as floaters - healers that can see the forest for the trees and anticipate where problems are/will be - capable of adapting and throwing cds without prompting, but might chafe at having a single assignment (although everyone needs to be able to follow directions and keep someone up).

Huh? 3 night/week guilds have cleared the content (yes, all of it). 9 hours a week is sufficient to be 9/13. This is the type of hyperbole that gets people into trouble.

May 5th 2011 5:35PM You didn't do/see the Shadowmourne quest line, did you? Frostmourne is the weapon of the LK. Shadowmourne was *created* by the player - with help from the folks in the base of ICC - as the only way to fight fire with fire, so to speak. No one "drops" a -mourne, and Frostmourne is reasonably addressed by the cinematic after Arthas dies.

May 2nd 2011 7:18PM As a counterpoint, isn't it *our* time we're talking about here? I'm willing to wipe a few times if the group is honestly trying, but as an example: joining a ZA group on a pally alt, we wiped twice on bear gauntlet due to people rushing ahead and just generally thinking they could just faceroll it. I stuck it out, killed bear, then dropped group. I didn't feel as if the frustration I knew was coming for the rest of the run was worth the run itself.

I guess what I'm asking is at what point is it okay to leave the group?

May 2nd 2011 9:50AM Interesting take on atonement, Dawn. I'm a shade behind you in progression (7/13) and I find that basically every fight has some healing downtime where you can HF/smite rotate, and some give you HUGE bonuses for doing so (V+T - double dips on engulfing, so you can throw 110k crit heals + 40k DAs via smite, trivializing most damage for ~20s in the melee). Even fights where I don't use it a bunch (atramedes, for instance), I still generally get 2 AA's off, which provides a pretty big throughput burst when needed. And the new holy fire hits like GH for 1/4th the cost.

Just a counter point 2c for those interested.

Patch 4.2 preview: The legendary staff, Dragonwrath {WoW}

Apr 28th 2011 4:05PM Absurd. Assuming they don't mean heroic (in which case you'd be justified in your point of view), 12/12 N does NOT take 16 hours a week. You have to kill each boss once...and by the time the chain comes out, you'll also have access to 359 gear just for running random dungeons via JP. Even if you are very casual (3-4 hrs a week), 6-9/12 should not be out of your reach right now. Given this won't be out for another month at the earliest, and you should be looking at 9-11/12 minimum at that point.

It isn't too much of them to ask that you go back and piledrive content that you overgear ONCE. Also...if you aren't capable of downing one tier old content, you won't be getting far on a legendary chain anyway (they aren't going to be passing these out like hotcakes).

Mar 28th 2011 2:48PM You may not "need" a specific class/role for *your* guild, but I can tell you that in 25H modes, you do need specific classes. Working on H-Twins (as recently as a few weeks ago) and don't have 2+ sub rogues? Try again next week. H-Magmaw or H-Conclave with no frost DK? Have fun. DPS makeup, at least, is somewhat homogenized (you need a balance of ranged and melee and you need a half dozen capable AOE classes), but healing makeup is far from it.
