Nov 19th 2011 8:21PM I do feel hurt that you failed to mention the forsaken, back in icecrown, covering 3 entire zones, was an epic quest line that lead up to an event known as the wrath-gate - which saw both horde and alliance fall beneath one of sylvanas' greatest attempts against the lich king arthas during the assault on icecrown citadel, and the subsequent valor displayed by the red dragons, the rebirth of our new lich king and the cover-up that was staged in the undercity when the survivor's tales reached both the horde and the alliance.

even after the lich king was beaten, and the forsaken returned, they decided to claim lodaeron as their own, being lead by a former sin'dorei, and the proceeding extermination of gilneas (an extremely satisfying quest line as an avid forsaken player)

shortly afterwards we bring war to the plaguelands, attempting to preserve it's state while the cenarion circle wishes to restore it, simultaneously sylvanas herself works behind the scenes at the battle for (fuu how could I forget!), witnessing what was almost lost due to an alliance struck between two knights of the ebon blade.

all of these quest lines really helped build up and maintain the feeling that is to be a part of the great forsaken war machine!

the only thing I think was lacking for the forsaken so far, is our part in the zone of azshara (c'mon, sylvanas and the blood elves just 'passed through' the great high elf ruins like it didn't matter?)

though I must admit, to really taste the lore of a race, one does have to play multiple races and factions due to the way they intermingle, (my next race roll will be worgan, gotta taste me some of that one's fight against the forsaken)

on a parting note, I beg any role-players out there to stay away from death knight's of the worgan race as worgan are immune to undeath.

let us reforge crit to hit on a crit/mastery peice, despite the fact mastery is for the most part worse.

they need to change rated AB to 15 people, Give us Rated AV's and Isle.
Remove 10/15 weeks and just do it on group size.

Jun 14th 2011 7:08PM I have to ask, I've always been asked to call targets.
mainly because of my knowledge of the warlock and it's counter class (rogue).
I generally have a good win/loss rate though my partners often end up leaving for bigger game, usually after a few matches against counter compositions that focus on my partners.

which is rare in low/mid tier arena, where a warlock is devastating, even back in 4.0.3
my game has a lot of holes in it, I understand a warlock should never be resting, and that fear is still one of the strongest cc in the game.

but my offensive game is horrible, I can't peel, I don't know what takes priority when I'm not the target. And I'd very much like to make the jump to 1600+
I feel I've reached the point where I can no longer improve on my own, but other players are leagues above me.

while I talk about my class problems, the problem I'm trying to push is how to break the practice of learning on one's own, and adopting the knowledge and experience of others to improve my game beyond the one class one view approach.

you often talk about the jump to 2200, which is extremely insightful, though it seems like it's removed from the middle tier of players.
If you have any advice for those looking to break into lower-upper play, it'd be greatly appreciated.

That's A 160 DPS Loss.

Now, I'm Assuming You Tested This On Live.
Because Despite That 160 DPS Loss Thanks To The Soul Swap Change, Affliction's DPS Is Going Up Significantly, Complaining About That 160 DPS We're Losing For The Amount We're Gaining Is A Tad Petty Don't You Think?

Shadow Embrace SHOULD NOT Be A Self Buff.
DoTs Adapt Their Damage To Buffs/Debuffs On The Target, Not To Buffs Or Debuffs On You, Changing That Would Have A Huge Impact On Our First Dot Sequence.

Even Though The Increased CD On Soulswap Means UA And Corruption Falling Off, It Does Also Mean More Ticks Of BoA, So The Nerf Is Minor And Hardly Notable.
It's Still Better Than Casting These Dots Manually Like We Used To Have To.

Affliction Still Has A Lot Of Utility, Unfortunately It's Utility Is, And Has Always Been Very PvP Orientated, Though The Real Point Of Affliction Isn't Those Gimmicks In The Other Specs You Mentioned, But Rather The Way In Which It's Damage Is Dealt.

Destro Provides Very Consistent 10 Second Bursts, Demo Is Very Much Reliant On Procs And Can Have Amazing Bursts When The Right Things Tick Over, As Well As AoE Situations.

Affliction On The Other Hand, Has An Extremely Long Ramp Up Time.
We Have Purely Consistent Damage, That Multiplies Ridiculously In The Last Quarter Of The Fight, Which Is Often Enough To Make Up For The Stupid Mage That Stood In Fire.
Our Soulburn Isn't Required For DPS Like The Other Specs, Leaving Us With A Dash, HP Increase, A Little More DPS With A Quick Heal, A Pet Change, Or An Explosion Of Nightfall, Soul Leech And Eradication Procs.

I Can't Help But Feel You're Down-Playing Affliction, I Agree The Spec Doesn't Quite FEEL Right, But That Doesn't Mean We're Completely Useless.

Feb 14th 2011 5:28PM You Should Suggest Using Demonic Circle: Teleport, In Order To Avoid The Fall Damage Of EM's Gravity Crush - Popping It While You're In The Air Will Bring You Safely Back Down.

And Again The Circle Is Great For Ranging Things When You Consider It's Soulburn Effect In Addition To The 40 Yards.
Consider Using It For Lightning Rod.


For A Oomkin You're Not Horrible At This Warlock Stuff, Just Remember That We Have A Lot Of Niche Tools Available That Most Classes Only Dream Of. (though they fail to realize this comes at the cost of patchly nerfs).


oh, and while glyphed soulswap is good for damage, you'll be doing nothing as aff when you have to hold off the dots, consider using glyph of succubus or removing the soulswap glyph to maximize your uptime without hampering the transitions.

Nov 23rd 2010 1:23PM man, chaos bolt *glorified incinerate did not need a nerf, drain soul's doing LESS damage than it was pre-4.0, aff's dots need buffing, not nerfing. argh so much wrong with that, I agree with most of the destro nerfs, (50k conflagrate crits anyone?)

but T-T my poor aff, it will be years before anyone lets me raid with you again.
